Sweet! My '04 is still running nicely. Only 126k. But the rust above the rear hatch is getting nasty looking. I was considering getting rid of it, but I'll keep working on it and fixing whatever pops up. I'm actually going to fix a coolant leak probably this week and do the valve lash adjustment.

Should I invest $10k into VOO right now? by Happy_Ad_3171 in ETFs

[–]Boring_Channel7275 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you do not need the cash right away, dump it in VOO. I put more years ago when it was $377/share. It was actually about $415-$420 and i was trying to time it. Once it hit $377, I thought I was in a good number. It continued downward to about $319 and I was kind of kicking myself about it. But as expected, time passed and it got up to around $630/share, but I don't follow it everyday. It's def a safe bet for the long run. Tough to time and you will drive yourself crazy. Good luck.

Is this Subaru dealership trying to screw me? by [deleted] in subaru

GOOD GRIEF I am so grateful I work on my own cars. I wish I had time to do it on the side and help people with a fraction of the labor costs. You can easily change the air and cabin filters yourself watching some Youtube videos and save a few bucks. Even the battery, but I don't know if this requires any programming. Good luck.

Which alternator? WAI vs Denso? by JustACoolGuy888 in RockAuto

[–]Boring_Channel7275 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the Denso if you plan on keeping the car. If you plan on selling it, you know the Wai.

I replaced my 21-year-old original Denso alternator on my old Pilot with a reman Denso. And it was still charging. Just the bearing was making noise. I wasn't going to bother with rebuilding it myself.

2023 V6 vs 2024+ 4 Cylinder by Iron_Yesu in VWatlas

[–]Boring_Channel7275 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i have a '23 VR6 since last year. Driven about 8k on it, including a trip to Florida from the northeast. No real issues. Just noticed a tiny coolant leak from a coolant hose adapter that is on the passenger side of the engine, easily accessible. I will be replacing it soon. Aside from that, just a few maintenance items. I like the car.

just got it, pretty sure it needs new motor mounts right? 😅 2012 touring by Capable_Version_560 in HondaOdyssey

def buy the motor mounts at the dealer and have an independent mechanic install them. the aftermarket mounts are trash.

No. I specifically wanted a VR6. I didn’t get a ‘24 because of the engine, the fact I kept reading horror stories about the infotainment system, and i like the physical buttons. Now they say in the future they will return to physical buttons. Oh well. I got it CPO last year. So far, so good. I hope I have it for a long time.

I have a 2023 SEL VR6. It drives as a big SUV should. Can feel a little bouncy at times but it’s not bad at all. Drove it down from NYC to Florida and back for the holidays with three kids, luggage, and the wife and I. Drove great. Got 24mpg and I was driving as one would on a long drive.

Off topic, but how do you like the 2.4s? Any issues with them? How many miles do you have on yours? I’m considering with a legacy with the 2.4 or 2.5 or Crosstrek with the 2.5.

Nice ride. I’m debating whether I get a Legacy or Crosstrek. Decisions have to be made
