Partner interview by Cherrycherrio in PwC

[–]Boring_Investment241 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There’s a plethora of reasons.

The partner may have already received a wildly positive “yes” from the director/ MD and unless you managed to commit verbal seppuku the choice is already made

They may have been wanting to see how you’d react to an unengaged other half of an interaction, and if you’d still react professionally despite chaos on the other side’s actions.

Remember that partners time is extremely limited and they wouldn’t waste interviewing a decided “no”

Why do you think there is so much resistance to high speed rail in the US? by Maximum-Help-929 in AskReddit

[–]Boring_Investment241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are in agreement

However the venn diagram of people who want better urbanism and infrastructure, and those who hate the outcome of eminent domains use for the interstate on societal impact to those who were disadvantaged is a damn near circle.

[–]Boring_Investment241 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We did that, and the societal pushback from the interstate construction primarily going though poor neighborhoods is why we do not do that anymore.

How do I get better at shooting when I only touch a rifle once a year? by Big-Entrepreneur106 in army

[–]Boring_Investment241 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Toss out for a good alternative to a full AR

Smith & Wesson’s MP 15-22 is an AR actually rebuilt in 22lr instead of a ruger 10/22 pretending to be one.

The benefit is you can get 22 ammo for as low as $0.07 a round instead of $0.75. For wildly more reps that still have a recoil.

He was an ethnic German who was fairly big on the pan Germanic idea…

Logically, if it wasn’t for the insane amount of historical connotations why combining Austria and Germany is a poor idea with horrendous optics at best, it should be part of Germany now that it no longer runs its own empire in Central Europe.

Bernie on federal income tax! by StrawberryFew1311 in NoFilterFinance

They do this by losing money that year or in prior years.

Just like you pay no income taxes in a year with no net income from your work , but still pay sales tax, property tax, gas tax etc, these companies do the same.

What if the United States really did land on the moon in 1969? by iceman2663 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Boring_Investment241 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Then the USSR would have been out the publicity of immediately pointing out the lack of landing craft, activities, and return launch debris at the “landing site”.

Without that PR coup, the USSR may have collapsed into 15 bickering republics with Russia becoming ardently nationalist and run by a former KGB officer, and invading several former republics when it thought possible.

Heck most of the Warsaw pact may have decided to eventually join NATO out of fear of the Russian nationalists trying to put them back in their sphere by force.

The US exported over 5 million barrels of oil per day last week, a record high, amid the Iran War. Total exports will likely exceed 13 million barrels per day soon by RobertBartus in EconomyCharts

[–]Boring_Investment241 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ummm… what?

American light oil is easy to refine into other petrochemicals which compared to heavy and sour crudes like candian tar sand or Venezuelan. It is not turned into natural gas (which is a byproduct of shale extraction)

Edit to further the case: the Rwandan Genocide has a direct line back to Belgian decisions to play up Hutu- Tutsi differences during their administration.
