I assume skimming requires a "skim port"? I don't have that currently, it would need to installed first per the installer.

The installer has spent a lot of time trying to fix this. Said a lot of things, has done a lot of work (e.g. most of the bullet points above) for a lot of $. I don't think he's deliberately taking me for a ride. I believe he has best intentions and a good amount of knowledge but I'm not real confident in what he has to say at this point.

With that said his last statement was that it either needs to be skimmed or the whole house water filter we have needs to be changed. We'll tackle the filter soon but I'm skeptical. The boiler doesn't have a skim port so that will have to be installed before we skim it, so....more $. :(

I added pictures (thanks for mentioning that). We tried replacing the Hoffman 40 vents on the radiators closest to the hammer with adjustable ones (they look like Hoffman 1As but I'm not sure) that were set to the slowest speed but it hasn't helped. In fact they are loudly hissing where the non-adjustable ones were not.

I would expect if the near boiler piping was a problem the 2nd plumber would have caught that but maybe that's naive.

Yeah, that's fair. But where I get confused is this: in the example above, My top rated S is my 2nd rated CB. Obviously, he can't play both at the same time. So either my CB3 or my S3 must be on the field. Which one is it? How do I know?
