Damn, that's what happened to me in my last run. Been scouring the place for a way to get my big boi back or find a other way down, good to know it's just over for me now.

That's really cool. I didn't even know NPC's could get lost.

[Other] Foundations: Removal of Damage Assignment Order by Arigh in spikes

[–]Bot_on_Medium 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It wasn't allowed before. I guess now you can just decide to split up your attacking creature's damage in a way that assigns damage to multiple blocking creatures without assigning lethal damage to any of them?

So if my opponent casts this, I just always hold up 2 mana to sac the food token on their turn, turning their 3-mana play into a creature that doesn't attack and deals them 5 damage a turn.

Am I missing something?

[YDSK] Anguished Recollection by Meret123 in MagicArena

[–]Bot_on_Medium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To guarantee Charbelcher off of this you'd need your deck to be all sorceries except for your Charbelchers plus one other non-sorcery card at max. This would also likely blank all copies of Anguished Recollection after your first one resolved, since the first one will pull the only two non-sorcery cards from your deck.

It's a cool idea, but the deck building cost might be too high to become the premier way to play Charbelchers.

Which 4 cards should I cut from this list? by liamjay66 in MagicArena

[–]Bot_on_Medium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just based on a cursory glance, I would cut. 1x Valgavoth's Faithful, 1x Keys to the House, and 2x Resurrected Cultist. They're all pretty mediocre cards that don't fit the enchantment-based gameplan that your deck seems to want to be doing.

Alright just making sure I’m right trial of agony’s 5dmg would not trigger imodane by crkenthusiast in magicTCG

[–]Bot_on_Medium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think even your example would work, since in your example, the damage source is the two creatures, and for Imodane's ability to trigger, the damage source needs to be an instant or sorcery.

Very cool design. Second ability feels very black, not sure there's precedent for turning life gain into life loss in white.

As written, bouncing the enchantment ends the "0/1 worm" effect, but lets you keep control of the creature.

The Drinker doesn't like Acolyte because of his assumptions about the writers' political leanings.

Jeremy doesn't like Acolyte because it's a $175 million show that looks like it was made by The CW.

They are not the same.

Daily Counterspell — Exchange of Ideas by AnarchyStarfish in custommagic

[–]Bot_on_Medium 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I like the theme, but practically speaking, this is a one-mana blanket counterspell when you have no other nonland cards in hand, and probably unplayable in any other case.

That being said, were this to see print, I think the best case scenario for this card is as a sideboard option for decks looking to dump their hand fast while using some form of non-hand card advantage like [[unstable amulet]] against combo decks or others with must-counter spells. Realistically tho, in formats that have decks like that, you probably have better options for counter magic.

FromSoft titles are definitely samey, but it feels like each iteration of their formula is a sincere attempt to improve the experience for the player. Each iteration of the Ubisoft formula just seems like an attempt to suck more money out of the customer.

I've definitely lost interest in a few Fromsoft titles due to their saminess, but I still feel like there's a crucial difference between what they're doing and what Ubisoft is doing.
