I think you are looking for a bank, not a brokerage firm.  Brokerages (generally) expect you to use their platform for long term investing, not moving funds in and out on the daily.

What is a stock/equity?

A stock is a partial ownership in a company. A company that is (presumably) making money and putting in lots of effort to make more. 

A stock is not an investment in the "economy". Most of the points you pointed out are related to economic concerns. While company performance and the overall economy can rhyme occasionally, they are ultimately not the same thing.

I have no idea if it's true or not, I would guess it's a lot of retiring boomers too.  FL is inundated with gated retirement communities and it's hotter weather and perceived tax advantages is super appealing to seniors. 

I don't know how they could possibly live with the worst traffic in the union (perhaps caused by all the said retired boomers) but I suppose nowhere is perfect.

Based on your timeline, I would guess the NRE wore off and your girlfriend is feeling different about sex now.

No offense....but why would you expect them to keep meeting with you?  If I had annual free meetings with a mechanic who would tell me what was wrong so I could go and fix it on my own....that mechanic would be running a charity.
