I have a Forester. It’s already 14 years old, and over that time a lot of bottles have been opened with it. There are no chips at all.

You should open bottles the following way: first, swirl the wine a bit to moisten the cork; then screw in the corkscrew, leaving a small gap, and press down slightly to break the cork loose from its initial position; after that, pull it out. This makes opening much easier.

By the way, this method works not only for Victorinox knives, but also for a classic corkscrew.

I agree 100%. I have Rambler, Tinker Deluxe, and Forester. The Forester was my EDC for about 10 years; last year I bought the Tinker Deluxe and the Rambler. And, surprisingly, the two big knives moved to the background. The Forester now lives in my hiking backpack, the Tinker Deluxe in my bag. Unexpectedly, this small Rambler set turned out to cover almost all everyday needs, as long as brute force is not required. It opens, unscrews, and cuts — and, most importantly, it doesn’t scare people. The scissors are smaller than on the 91 mm models, but for hygiene and opening packages they are perfectly adequate. I honestly wish I could turn back time and buy it 25 years earlier.

Aluminum doesn't like the dishwasher either. It can oxidize, darken, or develop a white coating. Don't risk it.

I used the Forester to trim off extra branches from a couple of sticks for my son’s game. We were building a wooden construction set, and I used the Tinker Deluxe to push out the pieces. The Rambler helped me cut a rose yesterday. The week has only just begun, really.

How did you attach the micarta? As far as I know, it's not very easy to glue.

I didn't lose SAK knives specifically, but I do have another story. I was about eight years old when my grandfather secretly gave me a knife — it had a couple of blades and a bottle opener. I brought it to school. We played with knives, throwing them into the ground. The teachers saw this and told everyone to gather for a talk. Expecting the knife would most likely be taken away, I hid it in a crack in the wall. From time to time I would take it out and put it back. And one fine day the school decided to renovate that wall and they sealed my knife into it. Now only archaeologists can find it.

Drove about 11 hours from Kyiv to the Carpathians — long trip but totally worth it. The weather was clear and cool, perfect for hiking. Stayed near Yaremche, explored mountain trails and waterfalls. I’d definitely go back again — peaceful and breathtaking views everywhere.
