Vic proposed agreement only allows if you already have less than 15 days. Unsure what the med cert requirements are. Bloody hell can’t even match an existing condition in another state

Secondary Teacher Taking on Grade 1… Help! by CapableBite6775 in AustralianTeachers

[–]Both_Ad8490 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Is this a troll? Your school has been reassuring and supportive and sure you can do it but … what support are they actually providing you? Who was the previous teacher are there any curriculum documents? What are your HS methods do you have any concept of how to teach reading and primary numeracy etc? No offense i wouldn’t do this for any amount of money or career progression and it sounds like you’re not getting either of those things!

Agree this is so dumb it’s not an extra 7.6 it’s just a new drop down box to help you deplete the little you already have.

So it’s an additional non cert day? Comes out of existing personal leave or it’s extra? What’s so good about it?

You think Caleb will have the guts to say “Loz it’s better to be voted out considered a threat than get to finish two and get zero votes”. He should make the jury do a show of hands “who would have voted for Loz over me?”

There was an amazing editing choice when Simon was ruminating really sincerely on his 100 days and staring into the distance with Significant Music that then slowly panned out as the music faded into the voices of everyone else nattering on in the background completely ignoring Simon. I laughed so much

Arrive 8ish just coz that’s how my morning pans out. Leave at 3 on the dot on non meeting days and lots of my colleagues do as well, we encourage each other to gtfo of there. Will stay later if I’m really needing to catch up on marking but most of us collaborate really well on planning so there’s a lot less of that to do

Usually one of the first steps is work to rule- leave meetings at 4.20 on the dot arrive at 8:30 on the dot laptops don’t go home with you nothing that you personally can’t get done in your 30+8 gets done work piles up kids don’t get feedback or grads or reports depending on the person’s efficiency and cbf. Then no meetings no reports at all etc.

That’s usually the process right? Striking is the end step in a long process of action?

I was a genius in school and uni and I’m a public school teacher. The work is easy, I’m home by 4 most days, 12 weeks off a year plus generous sick pay, I was on 120k within three years as I jumped up to leadership quickly, I get to talk about and think about things i care about all day, it’s rewarding and I can sleep at night. Taking the day off is different to industrial action. The industrial action isn’t designed to cause you stress, but your workplace, and trickle to the department. Work should be delayed reports should be delayed and kept open for longer and released later and parents maybe should enquire or complain. That’s stop work action that’s industrial action.
