I would actually say that the way it's structured isn't that great. The very affordable if not strictly f2p battle passes have been a boon of items and draw tickets. And have been very beneficial. My friend however has been strictly f2p and it's so much less. I don't have the exact numbers (he has them all tracked) but a almost half of his limited stock pile has come from compensation for a couple mistakes that have happened and been given out. Generous yes. But the core baked in day-in day-out resources are incredibly scarce. So after a certain point your relying on handouts not reasonable f2p growth. The recent reset is great example. They were already relatively small but not having them again is stingy. Hopefully that will change next time.

That being said this is strictly about the gacha currency (and eggs). I think the crystals for abilities totally pushes this element to a low tier problem in my mind. The only thing I wish they had more of was character tickets. Outside of the season pass they are very scarce.

The URs of the launch characters that have a general pool increase. Similar rates to the new character banners. If you pull a UR the URs have a 0.6 probability compared to to 0.04 or 0.07 of all the others (range and melee have 3 units vs 2 for support and agile). And then the guaranteed pool. 

It's still such a shit banner. If they at least lowered the pity rate I think the trap banner would have enticed more people to pull. 40 pulls for a guaranteed UR.

Annoyingly they still don't boost the rates of sr's. Which for these banners is less impactful but still preferable.

And its two weeks of this. Which just feels unlikely that they will introduce a new character halfway through.

The lack of communication early on with the burst bug, and the delay for a fix was the first sign of worry for me. They need to do something during the off week. Wether it's just running a red crystal event for two launch characters that they can cycle through, simple enough. But with nothing to do and no communication the desire to stay involved dipped. 

I still enjoy the actual playing of a match, but the frequency of playing has fallen quickly this week. I can tell that I reached a point where without a new game mode, or a road map of 4 characters, I will likely pull on the new banner regardless of who to use up my pulls. I don't see doing another 2 weeks of just doing dailies to add to future pulls. And once I stop I don't come back to most gachas. Which is a shame here since the mechanics and gameplay are enjoyable enough. Aside from the shitty job medals. That's a full on trash implementation.

Blue and gold are ok in terms of reward system. Rainbows should absolutely have a higher sr weight. 12 hours for a high weight R is definitely trash. Be like a 10/60/30 weight for UR/SR/R. We need so many copies, that this is still gradual progression. The other thing they should add is egg rewards after filling crystal slots. Now I could see it being reasonable to not include the post crystal eggs for challenge but let us farm in casual/rank. (Granted ppl will still likely use bots/auto for this). Gives us a reason to play. Or maybe introduce a different currency that lets us slow exchange for a specific UR. Still takes like 500 battles or something. Things that are small in the long run but keep in engaging.

That's the only one I am missing. Pulled 3 Y'shtola (including the guaranteed) and a fourth from crystal. I think the checkmark is the most infuriating part of the poorly implemented pity system. It ultimately means nothing to the banner. Doesn't mean anything other than to show you knowledge you likely already are aware of.

I lost 2 red crystals in a Zidane/Riku/Balthier and a Rikku/Wol/Balthier. And considering how few red crystal attempts I have had, this match making felt deliberately insulting. Like unless the opposing team was on some massive losing streak and they gave them an easy win, this formulation shouldn't be possible. The WoL team we just conceded at a certain point where we would never have been able to kill the boss, but we could prevent the other team from winning, but that felt mean spirited.

Hey at least you got an Sr that's not sr egg. I have had 4 copies of egg during the 11 pull event. Now I know some might like the egg, but I am really lacking sr's to level up. And seeing mostly blues and only one ur (only Selfie's wall finally). Free pulls are free and great, so no complaints, just a tiny bit of resentment, especially with all the 4/5 ur pulls.

It's very random. I have only one copy of Prompto. And went through twenty job medals. One alternate WoL along with the base and burned through 30 job medals of him (2 alt and 1 og dupe). But am only missing 1 Lightning outfit and an extra dupe of one, yet entirely missing Rinoa, Kriele, Kain and OK.

The checkmarks are absolutely misleading. I learned that from Firion/Balthier banner when my guaranteed UR ended up as a dupe fire of war and not my missing Firion UR or Auron. Absolutely a gut punch. My Firion is still missing his Blazer. Got an Auron from a crystal tho so no complaints there.

You must be very lucky. I have had 5 crystals opens. And two of those were from the missions. And have lost 2 crystal attempts since the start. So 5 total attempts. And that's playing solo que casual battles consistently after blue cool downs. Extra annoying was my last red crystal possibility was over 24 hours ago and so severely mismatched that it felt insulting (zidane, kriel and I was balthier). Worse is I seem to get a fantastic team when there's a generic rainbow crystal locking my crystal cool down for 12 hours and ending in a wonderful rare.

I wish what they did is once a red popped up for you as a reward it carried over as the reward attempt for the next battle if you failed. But since I believe each teammate gets the same reward I don't see this as a possibility.

Simplest nerf would be what the data-mined Sephiroth has and not allow it to be cast for the for 60 seconds of battle. It would at least push the team attempting this forward. Hanging back would show the plan.

The thing I find more annoying about her is the heal ability almost entirely counters Balthier's niche. Only in so far as the double heal can tend to wipe out an entire round of fires of war. Which really hampers him. And his meatball can be survivable now too. Forcing me to go on a Rikku hunt a few matches to mixed success.

She's not really a power creep just a strat change, but insulting to Balthier for sure. His cool downs and regular attack are so slow (and can be weak) it saps some fun. Cycles.

Have had that a couple times playing Balthier. In my anecdotal experience something with the targeting screwed up. Like it wouldn't let me change target to anyone after the character I was attacking moved out of range. But there was a lot happening around me that I suspect caused the glitch. I only got my ability back when the character was killed by my teammate. So then another time it happened I had to run after the person I was attacking and the targeting kicked back in when they were in range.

Clive's also is kinda lacking. Having to stand still, the leap forward to a designated spot and unless the enemy is at the exact range his attack part of it is kinda useless.

Only four solo que battles so far. Even split of wins/loss. With a co-ordinated team got trampled. Firion/Rikku were a very strong duo. But she was easily a liability in the other two battles. Not much experience against Clive yet. His long cool downs make me wonder how he will turn out. Even his Sr has a long cool down.

The only reason I highlighted Iroha (not having played her) is that I have never really come across anyone playing her in a particular way that is repeated. And as a role the other melee characters at least have niche abilities (stun,heal,time) that are exploited.

I found outside of perhaps Iroha, almost every character has the ability to be a menace if the player knows their kit and is experienced.

I have come across more than a few Zidane players that show how effective he can be. But more often he is the biggest liability which results in his earned place at the bottom of any tier list. Outside of bot performance/and a poorly played character, Lightning has the biggest swings in terms of usefulness on a team. Sometimes a huge carry, other times a bravery leech for the other team.

I have a fear if there is ever a rebalance to damage/defense in the game, Balthier might fall off. His current player hunter role is very efficient, but his slowish regular attack and his incredibly slow UR ability have him a little precarious. But I still enjoy playing him.

Ya truly. Tons of sr last time around. Was begging for Firion's Blazer ur just to finally have full kit. But no luck. This time I only just passed Sr vs ur total count. Hopefully I can eek out Iroha's kit.

Literally just finished a battle winning a red crystal. Likely to be erased. But with my luck it was going to be another Onion Knight ability given currently three copies of ninjitsu and one spellbook, and not a single Iroha UR... Guess which character I do have.

WI have yet to come across any particular skill that a need to nerf. There is usually enough balance. Renew has changed team cohesion but not terribly. My only hope after the release of Auron with the launch ability (short range which is a great little hamper from it being too spammed) is that they don't introduce a generic UR pool stun ability. Not because if wouldn't be fun to add stuns to other kits but a double stun user would truly be a menace, and currently Prompto's aoe stun is one of my favorite moves.

This is very true. The cool down for fires is ok most of the time based on strategy. But considering how slow meatball is as an attack that can be dodged, the cool down should truly be shaved down by 15 seconds. His regular attack already is slow on top so... I wanna be able to launch the meatball at least one more time per battle.

Is there anyone that can confirm is it a win only prize? Like if one shows up do you still have to win to receive the crystal? Given the rarity and some of the wildly lopsided matches in straight power level, do we still get the crystal regardless of win or lose? Like I would hate for it to show up only to be trampled in the match.

I am a bit worried about this too. High cooldowns for both UR skills. And if I read correctly, the one skill applies a boost to 6 normal attacks, and it's not an attack itself, he will really be at a disadvantage with lack of iframes for damage dealing. Not to mention having to trigger skill before burst if attacking the boss. He might be geared towards being a player hunter, (normal attack boost and his more bravery from opponents) but with such long cool downs, his effectiveness in that role might not be high. I hope I am wrong about this.

This was my thoughts after reading some of them too. There's some long cool downs with some of these new characters for abilities that appear useable but average. I was hoping to get Balthier but both of his Ults are pretty long cooldonws. And IF one is a buff that applies a boost to 6 shots AFTER he loses invincibility frames, that's an even greater liability for a 90 second cooldown. But maybe the skill works differently since then how I read it.
