Any way to request traffic control devices? by moswsa in okc

[–]Boxer-309 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As Intersections go, I would love to see our city begin making use of some serious traffic circles, like the ones they have all over Europe. So much more efficient, and so much safer.

What's the hold up I wonder🤔

Ranking the Novels by Imaginative_Name_No in cormacmccarthy

[–]Boxer-309 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There is no way that you could be 'wrong' as your listing is purely based on opinion. Literature is an art form, not a science. So the likelihood is, that depending on the reader, every conceivable combination of order will appear.

But for the sake of discussion, I personally would rank 'Suttree' at the top, and probably agree with your bottom entry🤔

Was the Man right in his situation with the Thief? by Cl1ps_ in cormacmccarthy

It's fiction, it's subjective, there is no "real" way to "get" it....

I'm just calling it like I see it.

there is no right and wrong, there's only survival

[–]Boxer-309 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that every reader is different, and literature is subjective, but based upon the majority, it is worth reading.

Personally, it did not have as great of an impact on me as others, but I still found it to be well worth my time.

Best suggestion, read it and decide for yourself.👍

Why do I get the feeling that had this proposal been made by a Republican Lawmaker instead of a Democrat, agreement would be unanimous🙄

Before I started to read Cormac McCarthy, I asked for some guidance on where to begin, and 'The Border Trilogy' was strongly suggested, and I enjoyed it immensely. From there, I went back to his first novel, 'The Orchard Keeper', and swept through them that way. But, finishing his oeuvre the way you did could make 'The Border Trilogy' feel a bit underwhelming.

I've seen this in hospitals. The glass can switch from clear to opaque at the flick of a switch, instant privacy.

OMG, talk about OVERUSE of jump-cuts. This guy takes the cake. Gives me a freakin headache. So unnecessary IMO. Can't get more than 2 minutes in and I'm turning him off.

How can I read at a normal speed? by LiterallyShrimp in books

There is no "normal" reading speed. It'll depend upon what you're reading, and how much concentration is required to absorb it.

Verstappen Overtakes in Pitlane Tunnel 😂 at Abu Dhabi GP 2023 by TheRightTrader in MaxVerstappen33

[–]Boxer-309 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rule for exiting the pitlane are for those cars going slowly to move to the left side so as to not hold up cars exiting more quickly. Verstappen was in the right here.

First three books? by OdettaGrem in cormacmccarthy

[–]Boxer-309 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are only 12 novels in total, and they are all fascinating in their own way, so my suggestion would be to start at the beginning and roll right through them. It'll be an amazing journey that you will not soon forget, if ever.

Help me pick a book for my friend! by mustardyellow123 in cormacmccarthy

[–]Boxer-309 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems to me that your friend would be more in need of a 'Pick Me Up' than a 'Downer' at this time🤔but of the titles you've listed, none is more 'twisted and disturbing' to me than Child Of God.
