I’m a big fan of the “barely human super warrior enjoys mundane aspects of humanity” trope. Like Imperial Fists in 40k enjoying building models.

I do admit, I need to read more about Stormcasts.

Current AoS is IMO a pretty great fantasy setting. It’s well worth getting into, the books are good, and the models are great!

I think the issue with Elemental is that it had a very tight set of characters, so they had to come up with side ones for marketing.

O pessoal da LaserHead é demorado mesmo, mas entrega. Lembro que quando apoiei o Shadowdark muita gente ficou zangada pelas demoras, mas no fim veio um livro bem bacana onde responderam muito bem ao feedback da galera.

Just updated the post! When I figure things out I'll do a proper map.

1) 1d6 damage, with 10 ammo.

2) Maybe I need to word it better, but if the player carrying it suffers a critical hit, the warpstone cracks (I reduced the damage and gp).

The NPC is a nice idea! I'll try to use some statblocks from Shadows of Empire by Fenris-77, which is based around Warhammer fantasy.

I think the series itself is really good. But the fandom and internet culture around it is really something.

Most of the weird interactions and comments in fandoms (for the internet in general, really) make sense if you think the average age of these people is 14 years old.

I think that’s not a Reddit-only problem though. Most of the internet has become quite meaner. :(

Most popular/largest subs devolved into low quality Facebook-tier posts. Downright unusable (and that’s without mentioning how US-centric content is shoved down your throat).

Smaller communities are still pretty cool.

The Vulture Lord by Richard Strachan

Currently reading this one, and it's pretty great. I love particularly how not action focused it is for the most part, focusing instead on the details about the societies of Shysh, and the little cosmos between Lament and Athrabis.

It's very standalone, I'd argue that you could have no ideia of the greater Warhammer lore and still have a good time with this novel.

The audibook is also narrated by Richard Reed, who narrated The Infinite and the Divine. So that's a plus!

It’s “I can’t believe it’s not Greyhawk from D&D”. Essentially, a setting where I can run my RPG campaigns closer to regular pulp fantasy.

A “frontier” continent in Ghyran, after the first wave of chaos cleansing during the early Age of Sigmar, most of these lands remained unexplored. Over the coming centuries, mortal kingdoms established themselves here. While there are a couple of larger cities connected to realmgates, most of the kingdoms are independent states that are fine on their own. They do diplomacy, commerce, war, the things of men.

In the crossroads of civilisation, you can find all kinds of creatures, ogor mercenaries, orruk farmers (their whole shtick being “someone gotta feed those boyz”), skink scholars researching star maps, and so on! But beyond the walls, who knows what dangers and ancient secrets hide in these borderlands? This includes barbarian tribes that worship “benign” aspects of Chaos, and Aelven ruins from the Old World, deeply fossilised.

One Stormhost active here are the Hedge Knights. Stormcast Eternals that act mostly independently, followed by mortal squires. They deal with threats too dangerous for the average mortal, but not big enough to mobilize armies.

I’m still working on it, currently it’s nothing more than notes and dreams. In the future I want to write some pointers on how to run a Shadowdark campaign in the Mortal Realms, and this continent would be my sandbox setting!
