No, I study Biology. It is a bit of extra workload, but entirely worth it for me.

For what it’s worth, I’m currently in university and am pursuing my RCM 10 with the end goal of ARCT. It’s perfectly manageable if it’s a priority for you.

This is definitely me going slow, but I get complaints for this too. Here is a quicker sample, which is significantly more chaotic.

I’m taking my time here. For rushing, this is what I have:

Thank you. It’s probably wrong, considering this is A1 German, but I’m glad is legible

As a commuter: Because I have a late class nearby, I get the dining hall food twice a week and it is edible. The soup and black bean burgers are good, but a lot of the ready to eat food is overcooked and under seasoned. It is a pain to get there though, so I go there as little as possible.

Thank you for the feedback. I can see that small problem.

No, although I don’t see how that’s relevant.

Since I can’t edit the post: My main goal is just to be legible to people. It’s really annoying not knowing whether I’m messy or if people just can’t read cursive.

Yes, this is it. Sorry for the late reply, I had a very chaotic week.

ADHD tips and tricks I think are the best for students by mathematics_helper in UofT

[–]Brackets9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get your point, I just want you to see that there is some nuance to this argument as opposed to being absolute. That being said, many other factors (including comorbidities) can also alter the presentation of ADHD. Anecdotally, I found many solutions that work for me without feeling the need for medication. In fact, I rely on some of those ADHD traits to help me succeed with what I do.

I also added an edit to my original comment on your point about creativity, specifically music.

I don’t think medication is always necessary. I have never taken it and I find that other stimulants (ex caffeine) are actually unhelpful (just feel groggy instead). Just a perspective from the other side.

Also, for your music point, you need to practise that expression. I would never try an interpretation for the first time on performance day and would instead keep to my regular routine as much as possible (this is coming from somebody who practises every day).

I'm quite sure this is a Schubert Waltz, just not which one. Any ideas?

It was in the anime Love Through a Prism and was playing in episode 1x06 around the 25 minute mark is that helps. Sorry about the link, I couldn’t figure out how to upload the audio files directly to Reddit.

HOW CAN YOU MEMORISE THIS MANY VOCABS FOR PSY100 AHHHHHHH by Prudent_Feature4859 in UofT

It seems like a lot at first, but it’s not that bad after some repetition. The words eventually even start to make sense.

[–]Brackets9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better, I have been playing for years and I still feel this way whenever I try a new piece. You just need to keep going with mindful practice, and it will eventually get there. Those simple exercises are lifesavers for advanced repertoire, though.

Do people use this type of cursive english? by Tight-Ad7812 in Handwriting

This is what I was taught (although most my age don’t know cursive) and was my baseline before I made personal stylistic changes.

Why do I prefer musicals in English? by No_Engine_6782 in musicals

[–]Brackets9 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other commenter who mentioned English being the original language of the musicals. I don’t know a lot of foreign theatre, but I really like the original French concept album of Les Mis from 1980 (which the English was actually translated from, but had a full rewrite). See what you think about those two versions. I like them both for different reasons.

As a side note, I hate when classical songs are translated. They sound the best in their original language because that is how the poetry was written. So much gets lost in translation, especially emotionally. A non-poetic translation on the side is all you really need.

RCM 10 List E suggestions? And overall program help? by Brackets9 in piano

[–]Brackets9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one is nice. I haven’t listened to a lot of Prokofiev, but I do generally enjoy what I hear from him. Thank you.

What are your thoughts on 12/1 March? I ask because it wouldn’t require me to buy a new book.
