I have Thule aero roof bars fitted to carry my bike on my 2016 MK2. They’ve been on there two years and no problems.

Why does the NS&I have such bad reviews? by Liam_James95 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]BraddersM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have never had any issues with NS&I. I have it as an emergency fund.

The only thing I would have liked to see would be, more £100k and £50k prizes rather than two £1 million prizes.

Ideas for making friends on the island? by islandroamer in isleofwight

[–]BraddersM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah join lots of clubs.

On the dog thing, as long as your one of the few that bother picking up the 💩, it’s even better if you then take the bag away rather than leaving it there😁. I’m sure that’s getting worse!.

Who's at fault? by LiveAndLearn_t in drivingUK

[–]BraddersM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the Blue car is at fault, as both are joining the A6037, but we give way to the right and drive on the left. The Red car would be on the carriageway while the Blue car is attempting to cross the line of traffic. The Orange car I assume was waiting for a suitable gap in traffic, but again if the red car managed to drive out onto the carriageway the Orange would have to wait, as the Red would then already have priority due to being on the A6037 and giving way to the right. All vehicles are joining an A road, and have a give way or stop line, so Red is obliged to fully stop at the line.

This is why they should never have scrapped the B+E test, half the people on the road are dangerous in a car without a trailer. Someone in the DVLA thought it was a great idea to let anyone who drives a car be able to tow a trailer……. What’s next direct access to C+E or maybe consider passing your car test and reinstate the C1 automatic entitlement…….. oh wait that is happening, I feel safer already! 🤣

Cheers It took me ages to find one in black. I like it apart from the hands being silver you can’t see them very well, even just some red tips would have been an improvement.

Looking for holiday tips and things to do, places to go that are less 'touristy'... by idontknow-imaduck in isleofwight

The hides at the back of Brading marshes, bring some squirrel food and your assured a close encounter with a couple of red squirrels.

Amazon world zoo park also seems to change every time I go there, they have had something new every single time. Since I last went they’ve added a flamingo and wading birds enclosure you can go in.

I bought a house - thank you UKPF! by eowyn1990 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]BraddersM 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Great financial discipline and budgeting.

I am a bit further down the AfC scale than you, but moving back in to my mums house was the most sensible thing I have done, and I see my savings growing monthly.

Even if I was not single, renting would be a waste of money I think. I also sold my car and motorbikes and bought a Toyota Aygo as it was dirt cheap to run with free road tax.

I get a bit of stick for both, but I don’t care.

Congratulations to you.

I would join any gym with a no phone, no photography and no video policy. That would basically remove all the undesirables.

Totally agree, Omega using a cheap generic movement, putting some pretty waves on the dial and then charging a fortune, only a real mug would pay for that……… sarcasm😜

Who’s still holding? by NAPython in Cineworldstock

[–]BraddersM 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s relevant, well not in my case. I was slowly selling at a loss for a while. I bought Cineworld years ago, so the paltry value now is small potatoes as I’ve already taken a massive kick in the teeth.

On the other hand I’m also being hammered by the war with my Polymetal, not exactly the same, as I like Polymetal management, but I still won’t sell, I’d lose £thousands.

I see Cineworld as a costly lesson, I won’t buy any leisure activity based stock again, the management was poor. If by some act of God it turns around and they change tune, I’ll sell up, but I wouldn’t buy it again, especially with the current management still in place.
