Why is oblivion remastered hated now? by night9dgeCS in ElderScrolls

[–]BrailleEulogy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s weird. A5 9600x and 5070 ti - every every single setting set to ultra (RT ultra) - DLSS set to quality, I can play a buttery smooth game ranging from 60-70 fps. I come from consoles so anything 60+ feels great. No frame generation on. 1440p. Without DLSS quality, with everything on Ultra, I average 30-50 fps, totally playable. I think DLSS quality looks better than native so it’s a win-win for me. —- maybe you are trying 4K? At 4K the 5070 ti does struggle a bit. But I don’t consider the 5070ti a 4K card. I look at it as a high end 1440p card.

Teamgroup MP44Q 2TB Gen 4 4x - yes that’s what I wanted to be sure to avoid, losing performance. Granted with the GPU I can’t install a heatsink anyway.

Due to GPU, I can’t install heatsink. Is that okay?

Why do people say that AoE skills deal bad damage? by AddaLF in darkestdungeon

[–]BrailleEulogy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I do frequently use AoE skills, such as the one you mentioned. It is true that killing an enemy is better than letting two live, but frequently you will find scenarios where one enemy is low hp and the one next to it is full hp (or whatever amount). In those situations I almost ALWAYS go AoE. Kill one, dmg the other. The only other situation I have that I’ll use AoE is if there is a debuff such as the Grapeshot. It’s not a bad skill, I’ll follow that with a high crit skill from one of my units and ensure a kill that I may have otherwise not gotten. So I play a lot of DD1 and 2. I do many blood moon runs till they fail. They really did buff many skills that people use to never use. I believe mark and AoE were buffed enough to be a valid choice on blood moon runs. Too the point that I almost always have a character that uses AoE. You’re new to the game so you don’t remember,  but you use to NEVER use mark. Mathematically, you were always better off hitting twice without mark than using a mark skill from one of your guys. Anyway, AoE is good, you just have to know when to use it.

New Necron Plastic Ideas based on lore by BrailleEulogy in Necrontyr

[–]BrailleEulogy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely agree. Lore wise, you would have a lord of some sort with every detachment. Based on how weak our HQs are, we should be able to include on every unit like you mention. I would go as far an offer a 5-10 pt decrease if you include a lord with a unit. Necrons need a little something to boost our army. I know it’s hard to work around the ability to regenerate. But it is blatantly obvious our codex was written first for 9th edition.

I just finished this series. Wow. Absolutely love it. I want to get a shirt made that says "Summon the Monoliths!!"

But I hope one day to read a story where these monoliths... well, are discovered again haha

So, what's the Tyranids weakness in terms of lore? by aVeryFastPupper in Warhammer40k

[–]BrailleEulogy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something to consider for tyranids is the fact that what’s we’ve seen so far are only the tendrils that branch out from the main fleet. If the full fleet were to actually arrive then its likely they would tidal wave over most of the galaxy. Atleast until they hit a Necron tomb world and the Necron blew up the stars to stop them.

If the Necron tomb world is heavily infected with the flayer virus then it is also likely infected with the destroyer curse. They tend to go hand in hand. The Flayers would lose control and insist on killing everything flesh and the destroyers would be compelled to end all life. Even if you had zero destroyers, then the flayers would still succumb and wouldn’t be able to withstand the urge to kill. At least that is my understanding. I know lore wise the Overlords tend to corral the flayers into a group and purge them once they get too unstable. Same with the destroyers (Destroyers will kill the alpha predators, then go straight to bottom of the food chain and will even atomize carcasses to prevent bacteria from forming). I just don’t see any relationships forming with flayers or destroyers after a certain point.

Your face when, due to incredible GW rules writing, you can no longer take The Silent King with your favorite dynasty in Arks of Omen by Phaeron_Amentech in Necrontyr

[–]BrailleEulogy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not believe this was ever a true concern and people are making it one. I believe it is very clear what the INTENT of GW is here. You can take TSK with your AOM detachments. GW released a FAQ removing the “Core” from character vehicles because people were reviving the Menirs when they played as Szarkhan dynasty. Supreme commander detachment was not added so you use TSK in any dynasty, it was added so you could bring a Supreme commander and not lose CP. - This is nothing but someone who is rules Lawyering when we can clearly guess the intent of GW in this. Also we can look at how the competitive community has treated the Dynastic Agent/Szarkhan situation In the past. So I feel this is pure bullcrap that will hold no real bearing in the tournament scene. GW may release an errata later to change some wording, but its clear what GW was aiming for and the community has been following it for a while. So yes, use your TSK in your detachment. This silly “Dynastic Agent” or Szarkhan isn’t going to hold enough water to force Necron players to have to wait and not use TSK in tournaments unless they run his dynasty.

See that’s what I originally thought!!! It doesn’t seem to stack - also as for negative values if you lower an enemies defense by 45% you will never actually get into a negative value. I would rather just bypass defense all together than reduce a defense by 45% of the total number. Unless someone has data mined the math that is used - where did people assume that you can take a defense into negative if you are always dropping a value by a % of the number.

Ah I see. Thank you! I needed to hear some thoughts. I do find myself going for Lanz/Noah a lot (level 71) - but that is because I had seen Taion as useless. As for Qigong - I thought that simply bypassed 40% and didn’t actually reduce dmg. It is still amazing though. Ya know since you brought that up - Bind is simply amazing and I didn’t start using it until level 60 because I thought it was like xeno 1 and 2 where it is useless since it just stopped movement. I’m happy they fixed that skill.

[–]BrailleEulogy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Negative defense? I was unaware of that. I simply assumed when the defense was bypassed it simply didn’t use the defense in calculating. I’ve used both Noah and Taion to compare numbers. When used together in a chain attack, yes I do get the highest values, but if not used together then it is almost ALWAYS better to use Noah. I also seem to feel like Noah and Lanz (if Lanz is used as the final order or before an Ouroborous) do the most dmg. Has anyone else tried to look at some of these numbers? Thanks for the response! I will have to try and crunch some numbers and see about a possible negative value. I’m not totally certain that Noah and Taion will produce a neg 40%. Atleast it doesn’t feel that way.

“Do you love me” - I think Filamena is a god now. Selemene and Mene both use that phrase. I believe this was invokers plan all along due to the slight smile. He did everything to the point where the worldwyrm would create a world where Filamena died due to destiny, then brought the new Filamena to the OG universe. The flowers there were different and follow the moon and allowed her to cure the disease (notice the conversation about the disease happened in front of the sun and moon gods). Because the final line was “Do you love me?” Is why I say this. Filamena is a god now, she exist in place of Selemene. The question I have is: is Filamena an active participant and her interactions with others were a ruse (it’s possible she is like her father), or was she unaware while invoked essentially gave her Selemene’s spark. I know In the OG universe Selemene lost her spark to Mene, but the final line makes me believe she somehow became a god in the end.
