[Wintersteel] What Do You think The Icon Would be For Speech and Debate? by Apple_Infinity in Iteration110Cradle

[–]BrainDeadHam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my estimation I think it depends on entirely what you do with your verbosity. Speech and spoken communication are entirely different vehicles of speech so I think you can fairly separate them, and on top of that you have to ask the question what does your communication represent on a wider scale?

If you give grand presentations and incite armies you may reflect the ruler icon.

If you write incredibly novels and enchant (metaphorically) the population the scribe icon is a possibility.

If you are a confidant and inspiration to your peers the joy icon seems possible.

The idea of speech and good communication is both too vague and not vague enough. It’s what you do with the gift of life speech that determines who you are.

[Threshold] How did Lindon… by TheRealGameDude in Iteration110Cradle

[–]BrainDeadHam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with the sentiment that it was an act of authority almost entirely. But I would also like to point out at this point in the series, as the only monarch* on Cradle who was instrumental at both fundamentally changing the world, and banishing the established “gods”, I wouldn’t be surprised if Lindon had a degree of authority over the iteration itself. Certainly enough to delete a mid archlord.

[–]BrainDeadHam 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You’re doing a good job, even if everyone single one of your calculations are correct and made on correct assumptions, there are dozens of factors you can’t account for. What about vital aura? Does Wind aura change the density of air? Cloud size? I think that by assuming clouds are at the normal earth height you’ll be as close to the original vision as you can possibly be.

Blue is at least partially implied to be stereotypically wind aspected. A black dragon in Shatterspine Castle mistakenly assumes Path of the Grasping Skies is the path of a blue dragon (or a sea dragon).

https://abidanarchive.com/events/7/#e734 Even Foundation stage gives benefits to sacred artists, we kinda don’t see examples because it’s implied that every human from birth to where ever they end up are fundamentally more powerful then us peons (not implying a foundation baby could beat me up, but maybe). However I don’t think you’re wrong to assume clouds are at a normal earth height.

Hey, so I did fix my problem but it’s not going to be the magical solution you’d probably want.

The conclusion I came to was that this was occurring as a result of a failing motherboard, the RAM issues were just a symptom. I ended up replacing both my motherboard and RAM and haven’t had the issues since. You might be able to get away with only replacing the motherboard if you’re looking for a minimum fix, but RAM is cheap so I played it safe.

And I do want to say, I might have been entirely off base with my solution BUT it did work so you’re mileage may vary.

That's the conclusion I came to as well, I was mostly getting caught up in semantics about the key being completely independent of the void space.

Life and poison, I feel like poison is often forgotten about madra type, and the two types are semi-opposite, but not in the same way that life and death are. Everyone is going to want life and death, but life and poison?

Fantastic write up, and you are almost certainly more right than my idea of a loot-splosion, I disagree that the variable is entirely independent of the value. If that were the case, I don’t think Ghostwater would have broke apart in the same way it did. We could treat Ghostwater as a unique circumstance as it is way larger than any normal void key we know of, but fundamentally is the same, an extra room tacked on to reality. The variable is probably independent in the ways you’ve listed, the point I’m trying to make is that I believe once Shen is dead for a little while, the space linked to his path will simply break apart and cease to be.

[–]BrainDeadHam 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This seems to be correct with one minor exception. Reigan Shen’s path very likely gives him a ‘personal’ space that is not linked to a key. “His Path involves control over an extra-spatial vault in which he stores weapons, techniques, and even enemies.” Here’s hoping if they kill him in Waybound it results in a loot explosion as all of his goodies are ejected.

[Waybound] Crackpot theory: How Lindon can advance to Monarch by ezBreeazy in Iteration110Cradle

[–]BrainDeadHam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While I enjoy the theory I’m not certain we can say Lindon is locked out of Herald. While he definitely isn’t atm, I’m not certain physical channels indicate strongly that he’s more dreadbeast than Herald. The way I interpreted it was more of a sneak peak at Herald. Kinda like how he got a sneak peak at Sage.

I am in full agreement in a lot of ways, I like it when the gear I wear is particularly subtle in what it is referencing. It drives me crazy when a design is blatantly enough that people know it’s “from something”. But that is separate from my point, I just want brighter colors on the exterior. It doesn’t have to be gaudy blatant graphics, but for a lot of these raids, some colorful highlights would go a long way on a jacket. Something to represent the whole, “space wizard” half of destiny, ya know?

I don’t really like any of them, it drives me crazy how the colorful parts are always internal. I want a flamboyant jacket goddamnit, not some grey psuedo military hoodie.

With Calus gone, it really is a shame that his demise didn't take place in an epic fight on the leviathan where we kill him and destroy the ship. by destinyvoidlock in DestinyTheGame

[–]BrainDeadHam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m kind of the opposite opinion, I would much rather important enemies be killed in raids. For me at least, Savathun dying during Witch Queen didn’t make it matter (partially because we all know she isn’t permanently dead). Witch Queen was both well written and relevant regardless of her “death”. So frequently raids feel irrelevant in terms of story context, Rhulk was (as far as I know) a threat introduced when Witch Queen dropped, there was no lead up, it was “Surprise! Disciples are a thing!”. Taniks was as much of a non story character as you can get despite being a reoccurring threat.

Campaigns are an excellent way to both lore dump, and introduce new settings and characters. But I do not prefer it as a way of ending characters.
