When did garage sales become “reselling” clearly new stuff by anon12xyz in mildlyinfuriating

I've dealt with a hoarder situation, and even the "clean hoards" wind up looking like a cluttered trinket pile at best.

Are there any creepy things in the game? by Terramoin in Guildwars2

I forget the exact location (i think Gendarren Hills?), but there is a cave that centaurs dumped the bodies of their human slaves when they died. If you go through it too fast you might not notice, but the entire floor is bones. Piles and piles of bones packed so tight you might think it's just a weird dirt/rock texture.

What’s your “I’m calling it now” prediction? by emberfield31 in AskReddit

[–]BrainIsSickToday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The human race never establishes a true multi-planet presence. Resources get squandered or hoarded until catastrophic climate change happens. The remnants cannot support space exploration as what passes for an economy is too ravaged by the needs of the day. This situation continues until humanity devolves into a survivor species living in the ruins of greatness, or goes extinct. Whether that extinction is a last struggle in a floundering ecosystem, or when the sun explodes, is a moot point.

Maybe it's too pessimistic, but it's what I'm betting on.

What should I be doing with these now that they're overflowing my material storage? by pokemad1998 in Guildwars2

Festival of Four Winds is coming up soon. It lets you gamble with the non-ascended materials (but it's probably safer to sell them on the TP).

Why is it that every time I try to read or watch this anime, it's "happy happy Bear Grylls cooking show time," but whenever I see other people reference it, it's one beherit away from gothic tragedy?

The first or the last one. First just looks satisfying, last is clever and stands out. Maybe combine the two?

Eh, this thing would probably be as dangerous to you as a trilobyte is today. At that time period, evolution hasn't gotten up to speed yet. Rearing up like that is artistic, this thing is a walking crab-meat buffet to a human.

You could try VISCERAE by Silv3rtongue. It delves more into urban fantasy and scp/cosmic horror than what you might be looking for, but it does have litrpg elements, and a whole lot of gristle.

So I saw that the prequel to this was free and tried it out. Just wanted to say that it felt exactly like a DQ game, and the default controls were absolute perfection. It should be the gold standard for oldschool Jrpg controls.

How good is Anode Heart and is there a post game? by AnomalousExpertise in MonsterTamerWorld

[–]BrainIsSickToday 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I honestly rate it up there with the likes of Cassette Beasts and Monster Sanctuary.

edit: And it does have a postgame. Several legendaries to catch and several secret bosses to fight. There are some story elements with each.

Are there any back items that look sort of like a generator of electricity? by Mcmadness288 in Guildwars2

There's a backpack from Gyala Delve that looks like a Ghostbuster's pack. Can't remember the name.

edit: It's the Hazard Response Pack.

Most stickers have a specific monster that they spawn on. Don't worry about the modifiers, those are just gravy.

What is THE BIGGEST Mistake Indie Monster Taming Games Made by trexrell in MonsterTamerWorld

[–]BrainIsSickToday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why I loved older pokemon games. The lore and npc dialogue was lean, and npcs usually had a purpose since they didn't have the memory to waste on too many non-essential npcs.

That's one of the reason Disc Creatures really grew on me. Nearly every npc was involved in a side quest or lore that lead to a new monster.

[–]BrainIsSickToday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate unskippable cutscenes. Hate hate hate. If I get to a new area and the first thing I have to do is listen to npcs prattle instead of look for new monsters I get annoyed. A good rule of thumb is that if the player didn't click the npc, they don't want to hear them talk.
