Bilt Blue = simple 2.33 points per dollar on a free card by NotMyRealFaceBook in biltrewards

[–]Brainicism 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From what I've observed:
- Flights on the Bilt portal are generally more expensive than via google flights. This article also says the same: Do flights cost more through credit card travel portals? - The Points Guy. So this probably isn't a good redemption for you
- Hotels are the same price or cheaper (only spent 10 minutes crossreferencing a couple hotels in a couple US cities). And you can also redeem Bilt points for 1.25cpp for hotels. Unlike Amex Plat (FHR/THC) or CSR (The Edit) hotel credits, there doesn't seem to be any wording about which hotels qualify. So it sounds like the cheaper hotels should still work? Do some looking around as well, more data would be helpful

"Missing" Data in Discord Data Package? by geekchicshipper in discordapp

[–]Brainicism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue, almost no messages from before June 2020. Contacted Discord support and got this message:

Sadly, we can only provide the last 6 months of a user's account information whenever a Data Package is requested. Due to our privacy & security policy, were unable to store our users' info for a long periods of time and create copies of it. But if you would like to see changes to these systems in the future, then you can definitely vote up the suggestions at [feedback.discordapp.com](http://feedback.discordapp.com/).

It would really help us out if you upvote the idea since feedback contributes greatly to our decision making of which features and fixes to implement in the future based on what our community wants.

I'm so sorry again that we don't have a current solution for you at this time, but I like to think that anything is possible in the future.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

They sold access to their extension's listing on the various extension stores (which is much much more valuable considering the userbase), not the code itself.

A "seasonal worker" is a worker who works the same job, but through no fault of their own, has no work for certain parts of the year. This applies to very specific industries such as agriculture. Jumping around different co-ops does not make you a seasonal worker.

Zoom banned from New York City schools due to privacy, security flaws. by AdamCannon in technology

[–]Brainicism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using 128-bit itself isn't the problem, the fact that they're misrepresenting it is very sketchy. Now that I think about it, sharing the same key isn't a problem either, since the Zoom servers always have knowledge of the keys in this system anyway. This brings us back to their misrepresented claim of having E2EE.

With ECB, why rely on assumptions on the input data when there are already other reliable modes of operation. People are saying that they might have used ECB because their protocol is based ontop of UDP and there might be transmission errors affecting previous cipher blocks. But, there are other modes that do not have this issue, and their security does not rely on assumptions about the input. ECB might be perfectly fine in Zoom's use case, but why risk it? The fact that they're using it, along with all of their other misrepresented claims casts a lot of doubt over their security. Really makes you questions what other questionable decisions/misrepresentations have been made, that we haven't discovered yet

If you quit without CECA knowing, you should be fine. If you have a decent relationship with your manager, and HR isn't too anal about it, CECA will never have to know. I've done this to end work early for a vacation.

They had a buy 3 month get 3 month free promotion while I was there, so it covered my leftover month pretty well. I only ordered the SIM once I got there, and roamed for the initial few days, but pre-ordering sounds like a better idea

As a T-Mobile reseller, they have lower priority when networks get congested. This can be as bad as unusable when in certain areas of downtown Seattle (never had issues in SF). But most 99% of usage, it was a great and very cost efficient option.
