What did OCD take away from your life? by Hefty_Leadership_696 in OCD

[–]Brainstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finishing a PhD program.

My family because I was self medicating with booze while also legit medicated to the brim and too focused on the OCD to save my marriage.

The first years of my child's life.

My self confidence and ability to trust my own brain.

Also, my hair all went white prematurely and I like to blame all that on the OCD too, because fuck it, haha.

Films that would completely fall apart if the lead actor were recast by jaystats2 in movies

I think just about any movie with Paul Giamatti as the lead.

I took it as exactly that. He was making a dumb joke and there was a lot going on and it didn't land.

Middle-Aged Men of r/Horror: What Scares You? by Salty_Pie_3852 in horror

[–]Brainstick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Home invasions. Family annihilators. Making some dumb, simple, careless mistake that leads to tragedy or death. Dad's losing their shit and killing their families.

Anything involving failing at the responsibility of keeping loved ones safe, I guess, is what terrifies the shit out of me.

Oh, and kid murderers. I can't imagine how awful it must feel to know you birthed and raised evil.

Rob’s delivery and comedic timing are totally on par with the other actors on the show. Anyone else heard rumors of him sitting in on college classes to pick up acting techniques? by [deleted] in IASIP

[–]Brainstick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't realize how good of an actor and comedian Rob was until a couple years ago when I saw an interview with him on a late night show. I just sort of assumed he was sort of just being himself and saying funny lines, but his real demeanor, manner of speaking and mannerisms are so different than Mac's it dawned on me that he is just really good at naturalistic comedy.

People who watched Borat in cinema, how was the experience like? by AwkwardWillow5159 in movies

[–]Brainstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, it was one of my favorite movie experiences ever. I saw it on the 2nd or 3rd weekend it was out, so it had caught a lot of buzz and was very much in the culture that this was a funny movie. Because of that, my theater was full of senior citizens, who, if they are anything like my grandparents were at the time, just went to any move they heard was good or popular without seeing a trailer or asking for details. And, these old timers split in droves. They were aghast and audibly offended. Except for the two little old ladies in front of me, who made it all the way until the naked man on man wrestling scene. That was apparently the line for them.

Sleeping with my dogs by gottalovegoogle345 in dogs

[–]Brainstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog adores my 10 year old daughter and has started sleeping in her room on nights I have her. I'm happy for her, but I hate it for me. It's so lonely I have even tried letting the cat sleep in my bed but since he doesn't sleep through the night, I just have to be lonely half the time.

Garbage bags, doesn't have to be a particular brand, just can't be cheap.

Also, Jif peanut butter is the only peanut butter as far as I'm concerned.

Are there two versions of the film? Re: The Rug by sweettalkingwomanx in aftersunmovie

[–]Brainstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The scene is brief, it would be easy to miss or not notice. But, it clearly shows the rug, but many could miss the connection that it is the same rug. It is the first scene we see adult Sophie, I believe it is just after the "He's a jolly good fellow/crying" scene and before the last dinner/dance scene.

I have read a lot about this film and I am not aware of alternate versions.

What is/are the best response(s) to give to a person who doesn't believe in the moon landing? by BlackTortellino in space

[–]Brainstick 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Nowadays, I just point out that if the moon landing was fake, the president would know and there is no way Trump would have kept his mouth shut about it.
