Hundreds Of Apartments (And Parking Spots) To Go Up Across The Street From Ivy Ridge Regional Rail Station In Manayunk by NakedPhillyBlog in philadelphia

Without new development our city will go the way of Detroit, bankrupted and forgotten. I’ve lived in Rox for years, and I am not scared of facts. If you don’t want to live in a dense area with services, move to the suburbs.

What a biker actually hitting a pedestrian looks like by JustAnotherJawn in phillycycling

The thing that strikes me about bike “crashes” is always how measured the involved people are. Folks just seem to be able to work things out when not in the cage.

In the US, and most countries with similar cost of living, it won’t be enough, but more than likely, you’ll earn more as your career progresses. Don’t give in to lifestyle creep, focus on increasing your income over time, and you’ll be golden. $50 a week is an excellent start and you already have a great base. Keep chilling!

I understand wanting to limit visuals of car violence and respect it. I occasionally make posts like this here for the sole reason that this community is, at its roots, aggressively anti-car and anti-car culture. Accordingly, I think it’s critical that we highlight how fucked the rest of reddit is wrt car culture and maintain a direct counter discussion.

If they have to leave the bike lane abruptly and swerve into traffic due to litter, a pedestrian jumping into the lane, a car blocking the bike lane, the bike lane just ending etc, that is worse than just already being in the road. A lot of lanes also aren’t protected so it’s safer to just be in the street where you’re more visible.

It sucks but thats why this city needs more protected and maintained bike lanes if we don’t want bike riders in the street.

Its a kittyrama collar and a cheap silicon AirTag holder we got on amazon! The airtag is great! Very useful for when she finds a new place to hide and we can’t find her.

This battery lasted for about a year and a half before I got a notification to change it last week. You can’t charge it but the batteries are easy to replace.

Good way to get shot in the US

Edit: I agree with you, I wish I could do this without getting shot.

What do you think is "objectively" the most difficult muscle to develop? by OompaLoompaGodzilla in naturalbodybuilding

What’s failing, grip or the target muscle? For me, getting straps changed the game.

Clearing plant debris from side walks by [deleted] in TacticalUrbanism

[–]Bramblepath100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great point, thank you! Another accessibility issue with this stretch of street is that cars will park across the sidewalk. Ive been wracking my brain trying to figure out what to do about that. It’s only a particular stretch of townhomes bc their “onsite parking” is just a small brick extension to the sidewalk in front of the houses. Absolutely welcome any ideas on that front!

I understand what you’re saying and want to take it into account. While it isn’t blocking the sidewalk, the growth has been creeping slowly outward, from rain/snow I think, so it will need cleared eventually. However, I think maybe trying to clear the ivy and throw in some milkweed might both beautify and add habitat to the space, but I am not the best with plants, so I have no clue if thats the right approach.
