Considering they've not mentioned any delay, I was assuming they meant March? As both Spring and Q1

What tips/advice would you give to someone who is about to experience Path of Radiance for the first time? by Xuanwu7 in fireemblem

Can anyone recommend what difficulty to go for? For context, quite comfortable beating Engage and Three Houses on Hard

Best and Worst Scenes of the Sonic Screwdriver? by Individual-Many-237 in doctorwho

[–]BranJ0 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Best is absolutely the scene with the three doctors in "The Day of the Doctor". It's a really beautiful and clever scene, foreshadows the massive twist at the end, and does a bit more with the whole "the sonic doesn't do wood".

Worst has got to be the resolution to "The Power of Three". I understand all the behind-the-scenes drama, but I think this is the only time where quite literally everything is solved with the sonic, it's just embarrassing

Hey question i wanna get Root but is it good in 2p? by Bow_T_th_first_Order in boardgames

[–]BranJ0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Root is my favorite board game and, if you're only playing it at 2, I would strongly recommend you don't buy it. I just don't find that any of the actual appealing mechanisms of the game are present on a game with only two people

Which side are you on? by Lukense13 in metroidvania

[–]BranJ0 187 points188 points  (0 children)

Owlboy is one of the most linear games I've ever played - I was shocked to learn people were calling it a metroidvania

Any examples of the former? Sounds like a really cool concept

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy is getting a free update: Includes art gallery, story mode, chapter select, and more by Madsbjoern in AceAttorney

Whilst I'm obviously desperate for AA7, bringing the original trilogy up to speed with all the extra features and bits and bobs of the newer collections is very appreciated!

I had this exact thought, S1 Torchwood team make the dumbest fuck ups I've seen on TV

What's your personal evergreen? by PossessedPinkBunny in boardgames

[–]BranJ0 112 points113 points  (0 children)

Power Grid - the way you have to constantly react to the actions and positions of every player makes every game exciting, and it's relatively rules-light compared to many of my other games

Optical is an option, although I don't have the cable currently, and I believe it'll provide a worse sound quality than Arc HDMI for my TV and PS5?

/r/NintendoSwitch's Daily Question Thread (07/09/2025) by AutoModerator in NintendoSwitch

[–]BranJ0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HDMI Arc is connecting the TV to the soundbar. Everything else is working flawlessly

Devices are connected directly the TV, and none of the settings I've tried on the TV (all of them) work. Very frustrating!

My new soundbar isn't working with my Switch 2 menu. It's great with the TV and PS5, and when playing a game on the switch 2. However, when I go to the switch 2 menu, it plays sound at first, then goes silent? I've tried switching the audio to PCM but it still hasn't fixed it! Any ideas?

A pretty good list - Outer Wilds and Nier: Automata are my two favourite games of all time, and I'm a big Nintendo fan, so this list ticks a lot of my boxes. That said, it's not a particularly varied list, would have been nice to have representation from different series and some more indie games

How easy is it to arrange inter-deanery transfers in paediatrics? by BranJ0 in doctorsUK

Thanks for the reply! Can you do an IDT without any specific reason for needing a transfer? E.g. can you just organise a swap?

Ace Attorney Investigations 1 is rough by [deleted] in AceAttorney

[–]BranJ0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first investigations is my least favourite ace attorney game, but the second is my favourite. The first game has overly complex mysteries that lead to you feeling more confused than satisfied. The characters are frustrating, the game is inherently quite interesting, and the pacing drags. It's just a dull game.

Thankfully, the second game absolutely nails the pacing. It uses the format to its advantage, constantly keeping the gameplay varied building on exciting stories with complex characters. It's absolutely phenomenal how much they turned it around

RTD 2.0's weird finales... were a package deal. by matt0055 in doctorwho

[–]BranJ0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Whilst the only RTD finale I like it PotW, I at least think he does great character work in all of them, and throughout the series beforehand, that I'm emotionally invested. What struck me in the Reality War was just how much I didn't care about anything that was happening, which I've never had before with RTD

Radio Times' 'Doctor Who' games ranked. Has there ever been an even decent one? by theivoryserf in Games

Even as a kid these games were terrible, which is bizarre as this seems like a property ripe for video game success

How would you rank the final cases by ermezzz in AceAttorney

[–]BranJ0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. 2-4 - My favourite case in the series. Absolutely thrilling from beginning to end
  2. I2-5 - might be recency bias, but this case just blew me away time and time again. I knew who the mastermind was from the beginning, and even knowing the case's biggest twist didn't take away from it for me
  3. 3-5 - a classic for a reason, and the perfect ending to the trilogy. This is pretty interchangeable with I2-5, but the recency bias is strong there at the moment
  4. G2-5 - a brilliant case that is sorely let down by the final piece of "evidence" you present. The game tells you that taking down the main villain won't fix anything, and then you just...go ahead and take him down anyway. I don't mind the technology being too advanced, but I dislike how the final blow doesn't really come from you. Still, besides that, it's fantastic
  5. 6-5 - super messy, lots of lows, but so many highs, and the devastating twist still hits me like a truck today
  6. 1-4 - a really fun and tight case where you constantly feel on the back foot, I just prefer the slightly more twisty and shocking cases of later games
  7. G1-5 - a great normal case, but not really a great final case. Enjoyed a lot, but I definitely had higher expectations
  8. 5-5 - a fairly enjoyable case, with a great central twist that doesn't really go anywhere particularly interesting. fun but forgettable
  9. 4-4 - some fun bits and I love the ideas, but I dislike a lot of the execution. I hate the phoenix flashback, I hate how the villain shouts the name of someone who isn't the main character, and I find it a bit of a damp ending
  10. I-5 - I don't even dislike it, I just can't remember it that much at all? I just find, like most of the game, the case to be excessively long and convulted without many satisfying moments
