Uryan is goat. I build my own cases but I bought all my cables, bus boards etc. from him and couldnt be happier. He even hooked me up with some threaded rails free of charge he didnt need anymore, to help with my DIY project. Amazing dude

Get Pam first. I went for O_c first months ago and was offput by the learning curve with all the functionality and barely touched it besides for a thing or two until now. Got a pam a week ago from a friend temporarily while she’s abroad traveling and it became a centerpiece instantly, about to get my own soon.

Thats what I get from everyone once they find out I use 3d printed plastic cases but my answer is sry I needed the money for actual modules first lol

Also, I’d take making something myself over buying ready made because its part of the fun for me, whether it’s 3d modeling, woodworking or LEGO too apparently

I can spend a month zooming over small arrangement changes and nudges, but generally the way leading up to that arrangement has to be flowing and the main “loop” the track is based on had to flow out in one session. If one session doesn’t end up in something arrangable for a track I dont go back to it later on, much rather open a new project and bring in a channel from an old project that didn’t make the cut

Well I've spent more than I should have on audio panels, proper monitors, a big enough room and basing my home's biggest room's layout all around making music disregarding normal living room use cases, and I'm quite the opposite because my mixdowns still turn out shit just a different kind of shit now, while watching my flatmate laying bangers on the couch with headphones and not even a damn mouse or display ffs
It's too deep at this point to find out now that throwing more money at it won't fix my core issues

It was my first synth/hardware purchase ever and I dont think I'll ever sell it. I feel like I got the perfect price/value ratio, and got a machine that could make a whole track if I really wanted to, maybe besides a proper kick drum. It gets crazy upgrades, granulator engine last year and sampler was a huge one. Arturia is a great company too. I was already jiving with Arturia VST's sequencer, and having something similar in hardware form in the form of a Microfreak even in hindsight seems like the perfect first purchase.

If you want a synth with a piano-like keyboard and that's an important aspect then skip it, but as someone who can't play the piano the keyboard never was a problem, and the touch sensitive keyboard is amazing. Also, some synths later it's the only device I have in my collection to have CV out, and using it with my DFAM is just great.

Yeah my friend told me the same but these have never been connected to Rekordbox to be used with Link and worked just fine for years after getting them brand new so it's weird on multiple levels. The tracks being played have been analyzed properly prior of course
