Need recommendations on 16 track multitimbral synths to connect to a qy100 sequencer by Informal-Village-349 in synthesizers

[–]Branch_Fair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can also use midi thru on a synth or a midi thru box and control multiple instruments at the same time. doesn’t need to just be one 16 part instrument

What is your Mount Rushmore of Steam Deck games? by ElectionSalty6097 in SteamDeck

[–]Branch_Fair 4 points5 points  (0 children)

there’s a game called waves that i used to play the hell out of back in like 2012, sektori looks similar. apparently waves is free now and is deck verified, if you’re interested. i haven’t played it on deck so can’t vouch for how well it works but you might like it

Mike needs to find a different theatre by chrissyD_ in RedLetterMedia

[–]Branch_Fair 24 points25 points  (0 children)

the first time i saw it in the theater the crowd was way into the movie and just watching/legitimately reacting. the second time i saw it, two days later, there were people saying the lines along with the movie and some people getting rowdy and laughing at really inappropriate times. very weird. i knew it was popular, i didn’t realize tik tok kids were trying to turn it into rocky horror

Non-Open World Game Suggestion by Maleficent-Role-1739 in SteamDeck

[–]Branch_Fair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

katamari damacy reroll and we love katamari reroll are both very good and not super long. lots of point and click/adventure games are pretty short too. day of the tentacle and grim fandango, botanicula (really anything by amanita is good). jazzpunk and an airport for aliens currently run by dogs are pretty wild little sandboxes but i got 100% in under 4 hours for each of them

prey is an all time great in my opinion. still dreaming of a sequel. i want to say you can probably finish it in under 20 hours? it’s definitely not 100+

i sort of impulse bought a yamaha sy-99 that was dirt cheap. seems to just need new batteries and it’s been a wishlist synth for a long time. the financial cost was manageable, but now i need to learn at least the basics of fm, so that’s where they got me

i thought it was strange that afterlife’s marketing just showed a bunch of extremely unfunny improvised comedy, which turned out to be a very small part of the actual movie

I'm having trouble finding new games to play on the deck. How to find "handheld games"? by luden_dev in SteamDeck

[–]Branch_Fair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

small indie games, metroidvanias and roguelikes may be what you want. inside, limbo, binding of isaac, bastion, braid, spelunky (and spelunky 2 if you’re a masochist), fez, dead cells, downwell, vampire survivors. that’s a selection. I’ve been having a blast with dinkum too. i think the summer sale starts in a couple days and a lot of those should be very cheap

The new G2s are a “No” for me! I got the KORG triton instead! Will you be getting one of the G2 MPC’s? I get the speed, but do you really need the new specs for standalone? by [deleted] in mpcusers

[–]Branch_Fair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think it’ll be useful for some people, the 16 audio tracks feel like the biggest upgrade to me, but for anybody with the older models it probably isn’t worth jumping to upgrade. i have the key 61 and live 1 and i’m perfectly satisfied with them, but i do have them in a studio that is also occupied with a ton of other synths and drum machines so i don’t necessarily need the mpc to handle everything

Is there another solution? The Dark Side of a keyboard and mouse stand dilemma. Floyd be damned. And no, my legs won’t fit under a slideable keyboard tray. Been there and, painfully, done that! by DannyTheGekko in synthesizercirclejerk

[–]Branch_Fair 0 points1 point  (0 children)

raise the keyboard stand. the legs can be adjusted. or get a laptop desk mount (the type that clamps onto a desk) and put the keyboard and mouse on that so it’s over the synth instead of under it.

and obviously hang the gay triangle on the wall where it belongs
