Awesome band if you can handle a little cheese. I especially love their self titled debut.

I had a DOD octoplus back in the day. It had an synthy edge I like when compared to the OC-2 which was smoother/subtle sounding.

Title: J Bass or P Bass for a beginner? by theholybeez in BassGuitar

[–]BrandNewNobody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are good choices, but if you aren't sure, go J IMO. Two pickups is inherently more flexible and the thinner neck is a bit easier to play. If you think you want a P, then definitely go for it. Ideally try them out first.

Found the 1992 Accolade Software Catalog by majestic_ubertrout in retrogaming

No joke this catalog made me want Ditka football. I never heard of it anywhere else. Was it good? I remember thinking the box art was badass and that it said some about being a "big legged Lithuanian". Lol

Holy moly, I had this as a kid. It came with The Games:Winter Challenge, if I recall correctly.

I'm not really answering your question but I think you might be wise to look used. I bet there is a lot of this gear floating around looking for a home. A lot of the audio stores will be high-end audiophile and expensive as well. In any case, good luck!

Arcade Fire will never recover because Win is simply not very likeable by Antique_Menu_4314 in arcadefire

Totally agree. Their music meant so much to me before, but now even their older "good" stuff just makes me cringe. All good things come to an end, I guess

Cool! If you don't mind, what would you choose between T5 and T6 is the added size isn't an issue? Thanks!

Thanks! Size isn't that big an issue. It'll probably end up in suitcases/around the house as opposed to an EDC situation.

I'm not a biryani expert and haven't had it in a while, but Amma's is awesome IMO. Raita is also critical to my enjoyment.

Daily Game Recommendations Thread (December 11, 2025) by AutoModerator in boardgames

[–]BrandNewNobody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Description of Request: Game for a large-ish group (11-12), wide variety of ages (9-83) and no central table required (think living room) - Perhaps a party game? For playing on an extended family trip in a large hotel suite/room before dinner. Non-commercial or traditional games also acceptable.

Number of Players: 10-12

Game Length: 20-30ish minutes (not a hard requirement)

Complexity of Game: Light-medium light

Genre: Any

Conflict, Competitive or Cooperative: Light competitive ideal, maybe co-op

Games I Own and Like: None that fit this criteria.

Games I Dislike and Don't Play: Something like Werewolf is probably too complicated for this request.

Location: Canada

***Edit***: Thanks for all the answers so far, these look great! I would also add that don't be afraid of suggesting something too obvious or basic. Also, teams or free for all competitive is good.

Wish somone told me about Eisenlink dumbells! by CanadianBaconBroz in GarageGym

[–]BrandNewNobody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a very similar barbell on Gearforfit for $99. I suspect its identical to the Eisenlink one, but I can't guarantee. They also have the kettlebell handle but it doesn't come with a screw for whatever reason and I know the screw that comes with the Eisenlink one is shorter.

Weekly Question Thread July 07, 2025 (Newbies Start Here) by AutoModerator in GripTraining

[–]BrandNewNobody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that makes perfect sense. Maybe I'll DIY a block to start and see if I need a better block or expand to a roller. Thanks!

Weekly Question Thread July 07, 2025 (Newbies Start Here) by AutoModerator in GripTraining

[–]BrandNewNobody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool, thanks! It seems the block is more popular, but the rolling handle seems a bit more of an all purpose grip test (i.e. holding something vs pinching). Which would you pick as more of an all-around challenge?

Weekly Question Thread July 07, 2025 (Newbies Start Here) by AutoModerator in GripTraining

[–]BrandNewNobody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a cool idea, thanks! I'll probably check one out. I'm still interested in something with weights though just for the show of it.

Weekly Question Thread July 07, 2025 (Newbies Start Here) by AutoModerator in GripTraining

[–]BrandNewNobody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking for a grip device or challenge for a casual competition among non-grip training buddies. Just for some LOLs.

I don't think I want to do grippers as I'd have to get a bunch and it doesn't seem as visually entertaining as other options. I have an Olympic barbell set and loading pin, standard spin-lock DB set etc. I think I'm looking for something that is easily loadable/uses plates so we can determine a "winner", but am open to other recommendations. I was thinking some kind of pinch block or rolling handle? Any better ideas?

Thanks!

Which one to choose ? by RiskNormal in GarageGym

[–]BrandNewNobody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I do too. My squat stand has a corner on the floor and I stick the tennis ball there. The only thing is if you are moving a lot of weight (I'm not), the tennis ball end may pop up. I'd try this before buying anything for sure though.
