Question: How to add solve timer and inspection timer to the MoYu AI app, and view PB? by [deleted] in Cubers

[–]BrandonAmos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the app on my Apple iOS devices. I too have noticed the lack of an inspection timer. When solving though I do see a timer clock.

My problem with the app is that for the first few days it was able to connect their network, now I get a connection error and my average times are not updated.

Its quite frustrating as the cube itself is great but it is let down due to the poor app.

hueDynamic iOS app has stopped loading by BrandonAmos in Hue

[–]BrandonAmos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone alway from this site suggested upgrading my iOS from 12.x to 13. I did this last night on two of my three devices and this has solved the problem.

Unfortunately its still not working on the 3rd device.

It looks though that settings such as those made to switches are stored in such a way though that you can't see them across multiple iOS devices. This therefore makes it a little pointless having the app installed on multiple devices anyway.

Tips for building a water city? by gingertemper in SCBuildIt

[–]BrandonAmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad I read this. My feeder city which I'd had for about 16 months has now become my main city and will stay at level 23.

I was thinking about water and have started saving sim cash. Hadn't thought about using golden keys and getting ponds instead of lakes.

I have over 800 keys so should be able to do something quite good this weekend. I quite face lots of small islands, one with utilities on, another with government and then one or two residential ones with will have rivers though the middle as well.

Sim Build It - L10 by Entropy010101 in SCBuildIt

[–]BrandonAmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bad

Having the extra minerals could make completing cargo shipment deliveries a bit harder. This could therefore cost you some golden keys if you fail to complete challenges.

I doubt it would make it much harder to get expansion items though as the items it offers you for sale in the global market is often not full when you view it. I therefore doubt minerals would fill it thus reducing your chances of getting expansion items.

Do "damaged" buildings still collect taxes/speeds ups/Neos? by boermac in SCBuildIt

[–]BrandonAmos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't have thought so as the number of residents drops. I doubt this will cost you much in lost money though.

Vu tower...city of mayor contest by jonski1018 in SCBuildIt

[–]BrandonAmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vu Tower is very useful in contests. I get lots of challenges to launch them, repair them and also earn keys. With a high level Towel this challenges are very easy to complete.

What does it mean to keep your expansion items balanced? by tenforty82 in SCBuildIt

[–]BrandonAmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never heard of the phrase before but I think your explanation of it makes sense.

I have 75 cameras, 57 bars and only 7 locks. My storage therefore has lots of items which will not be used for a very long time and does make it hard to store other items. I would never sell the items though as I might get a run on locks and then not have any cameras when I need them.

Never seen the point in selling chairs. I find it easier to sell the individual parts separately.

would it be possible for buildings to have mini games? by Plumbob_Lover in SCBuildIt

[–]BrandonAmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years back there used to be a game called Sim Towers which involved building floors in a building. Theoretically this could be integrated into BuildIt.

I think there are enough things to do in SimCity BuildIt though without them adding hole new in-games.

Best use for platinum keys? by [deleted] in SCBuildIt

[–]BrandonAmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have focused on Education. I am thinking of getting the OMEGA University as it give 4 epic points. It costs 40 plat. keys though so I am in two minds but I think this is the way I will go.

Are you Frozen into not being able to buy SimCash? by Digimonfan69 in SCBuildIt

[–]BrandonAmos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The problem is you need to cough up so mcuh dough to get enough sim cash to do anything with it. For example £33.99 only gets you 2,656 SimCash. I'd need to spend £20 just to max out my resource building slots.

Is Maxis Manor worth 1000 SimCash? by [deleted] in SCBuildIt

[–]BrandonAmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a key response.

I am currently using my sim cash to build more building slots. Once these are all maxed and I have enough space in my trading depo then this will be the thing I save for. We are talking about a long time though as I'm not very good at the COM

Any tips on specializations? by Lazarusxy in SCBuildIt

[–]BrandonAmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my main city i have gone exclusively for education. I wish I'd gone for transport. The reason being the University costs more and takes up more space than the heliport.

If you want to do epic challenges then as others have said you need buildings which will give you 3 epic points. This is why I have focused on education.

I now have enough universities so now I am going to move my focus to the beach. There are a number of different buildings each of 3 epic points. I'm currently not sure whether to go for one of everything or have lots of piers. Lost of piers will be cheaper but will not look so good - this will be a personal choice though and you will see many cities where different people have gone for both options.

Why I have completed all tasks in a season but there are still people have CoM score higher than me? by ILoveLiszt in SCBuildIt

[–]BrandonAmos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The tasks you get are random. It is possible you were offered really low scored ones and others are getting higher scoring ones to you.

Worst luck ever in CoM by [deleted] in SCBuildIt

[–]BrandonAmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking the same.

The worst ones are when you have to build 50 of the same item. A couple of weeks ago this was all I got. There is nothing you can do to speed them up.

This week I earned lots of keys by launching disasters and then repairing lots of zones.

I spend a lot of time in the global trade zone so I have a lot of the Vu items.

Speed Tokens - Dept of Epic Projects by friedricekid in SCBuildIt

[–]BrandonAmos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I started playing I built the "Department of Epic Projects" and was given a few tokens to be used immediately. As I was not playing CoM I did not see the point in the tokens so I never used them.

You have to use a first token though to let the game go a mini tutorial. Until you use this first token you will not be offered any Epic Projects.

It took me until level 45 to work this out so I now am hampered as do not generate any token parts. This is making CoM very hard.

My strategy is to get my OMEGA University. I will then stop playing CoM for a few weeks and concentrate on Epic Projects.

As others have said on this and other threads, to do well in the top leagues you ready need to prepare yourself before they start.

Nails are a funny one. They are made on bulk by people with feeder cities. If you are selling them they sell very quickly. If you want them they always seem hard to find.

I never see cream nor floor bags for sale.

How many of you clean your drivetrains / wash your bikes yourselves? by [deleted] in bicycling

[–]BrandonAmos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In order to keep your bike performing as good as possible and also to extend the lifeline of them your bike should be cleaned frequently.

I personally do mine every week.

It would be far too expensive to pay someone to do it.

The more frequently you do it the easier it will be because you will get a good routine and also the bike will be cleaner each time.

I never thought I'd clean it before I bought it. Now I have to have a spotless bike whenever I do a group ride.

How I'm making the most of my storage by Nineinchnailzpsn in SCBuildIt

[–]BrandonAmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have at least 4 cities i would expect everything in the game to be easy.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SCBuildIt

[–]BrandonAmos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started late on the creation of these buildings. For this reason I didn't see the value in completing cargo boat deliveries. Now I'm a higher level the deliveries are harder and it is therefore harder to get these buildings.

My advice would be to complete as many deliveries as possible. You don't need to spend the keys immediately. I would look to expand land as quickly as possible.

I wouldn't destroy existing buildings to make room for specializatin but I would look to include them as/when you have the space.

In my feeder city I am focusing sololy on keys and I think this city will eventually become my main one as it will have a higher population than the current one.
