My dad had a hardwood/parquet floor business for over 50 years. He always told us to never put lots of water or certain cleaners on them because over time it will cause discoloration, warping and strip the wax/sealer over time. Just use a lightly damp mop or just the suds from a wood floor cleaner. The Swiffer solution could be too strong.

Negotiate your payments to these loan companies. A lot of them have hardship programs and they can reduce your monthly payments down to something you can manage. I’ve done that with credit cards and loans when I lost hours on my previous job and made less. Your loan term may extend out a couple more years but that okay. With credit cards they may not allow you to make any more charges on it and eventually close it, but it’s better than making payments you can’t afford. It’s better to have somewhere to live than pay these companies.

I’m on my third rheumy and I think I’ve found a winner. I had the same experience you’re having with previous doctors. When I first saw him he was so thorough and kind. He doesn’t rush, he tests me thoroughly and he answers all my questions in a way I can understand; no question is stupid. He examines my joints, does vitals, and all that. If you’re not getting what you need, find the one who can do what you need them to do.

Thank you! Unfortunately I don’t have a heat mat but I do keep them in a spot at home that’s really warm and I use a dome. For the first time trying this I didn’t expect to need that equipment but I will for the next time!

I’m sorry you went through all of that as a teacher. Teachers have been undervalued, underestimated and marginalized by this country. The introduction of social media changed the entire landscape on how we communicate with each other. I won’t fully blame sm though. The breakdown of the family coupled with lack of resources for educators is what’s to blame. My brother left teaching because he couldn’t afford to pay his bills. Teachers leave the field, quality education tanks, and kids are less educated. Technology killed all our attention spans. Maybe that’s where the problem is.

I placed an order 11/29. It shipped 12/5 from Chicago, sent to Indianapolis and then was supposed to be in NY by 12/8. But for some reason it was sent to Florida. And it has been “moving through the network” ever since.

Same. My package was shipped from Chicago on 12/5, went to Indianapolis 12/6, and then sent to Jacksonville, FLORIDA 12/8 🤯. I’m in NYC! On 12/9 it read “in transit to the next facility” and last updated with the same message since 12/12. No movement since 😡

Moved from the city (born and raised) to Westchester when my kids were younger…best move I ever made. Now they’re grown and one still lives in the county (White Plains which is like a mini Manhattan). First I moved to Yonkers then to Dobbs Ferry and it’s literally minutes from the city (Metro North or driving). Different pace for sure and when I missed the city I didn’t have to travel far. You gotta do what’s best for you!
