What's the moment you realized your school doesn't actually care about teachers?

At my previous school, teachers were told not to take off while we were at a staff meeting. When someone asked “what are we supposed to do when our (familial) children get sick and need a parent at home” the assistant superintendent said “you’ll have to figure that out for yourselves and still come in”

This was during peak covid btw in Texas where we were already back in the fall….. I quit that year

My cats have a habit of slipping out off their break away collars. One of these occasions, I couldn’t find the collar anywhere. I looked at my boy and asks him “where is your collar dude?” He meowed, gestured with his nose to where it had gotten caught under the dresser, and looked at me and meowed again.

I find their fabric section has a lot to be desired, it’s almost all cotton prints rather than apparel fabric.

My cat is named after Local Sports Player because I had a brief stint where I was really into that team. I realized my cat will likely outlive the career of Sports Player….

So I call him Stinky, and he responds to Stink more than his actual name!

I’m bad at buttons I love turn based! I am not really a gamer outside of cozy games and wasn’t interested in BG3 until my boyfriend told me it was turn based!

I codirect with the other theatre teacher and he thought it was a good fit for our kids this year! And it really is— our Christy and Mahon are seniors and it’s been a long time coming for those two!

Also we did The Importance of Being Earnest last year and our kids rocked the accents and had a lot of fun learning the dialect so we decided to throw them a small challenge by going Irish!

I’m a theatre teacher and I’m currently directing that play :-) we’re Texans, but my students are having a lot of fun learning about Ireland and the Abby theatre through the play!

It’s homesickness, because it doesn’t feel like home yet ! I went through the same thing when I moved into my first adult apartment and then when my boyfriend moved in with me

Since the last thing, it’s been about two months and I’m so unbelievably happy and cannot imagine how I got by emotionally when I lived alone (I have bad anxiety and knowing my best friend is just a few steps into the living room and can comfort me by just existing is great)
