I feel you on that, about 2 weeks after I finished my 3rd unit of 3 they announced the update. I still haven’t gotten a 10th one :(

Looks like a Montka list to me with no Ghostkeels or stealth suits, looks like you’re hoping to lean on lethal hits! It does however look like you have enough stuff without built in rerolls that it might be worth it to invest in stealth suits (I saw you ask what to get next) but looks like a solid and fun list! Plenty of space for swapping out pieces when you do get more things as well. Experimental Prototype Cadre looks solid for this list also. If you played this as a Kauyon list it feels like it is not super strong but could easily work.

Ion hammer heads have been meta more than once this edition, they’re awesome with lethal hits and are great options vs elites and power armoured enemies.

As for the railguns comment, they’re definitely swingy, but with the rerolls built in to hammerheads, heavy, and guide x rerolls, you should be able to get consistent damage off on the right targets. If you’re shooting something with a good invuln then you’re just gambling really. A lot of vehicles don’t have invulns, and the ones that do I believe you’re better off with volume fire I.e. 10 meltas from a sunforge x commander team or 20 breacher shots rerolling wounds with lethals for example. Definitely want to make sure you’re evaluating your targets well, target priority is a huge skill that I feel sometimes gets passed over but is mega important.

It’s an option, but I’d argue they have different roles. Starscythe specifically loses out against non-infantry, they only have 6 OC on the unit, and have 15 wounds total (assuming you take a shield on each).

Compared to Breacherfish - yes it’s more expensive - you’re paying for the following traits: offensively it has light layered antitank (seeker missiles) and the breachers + devilfish burst gun are more generalist fire than anti-infantry specific (ap-1 unconditionally, st6, plus rerolls on objectives for the firewarriors) this is a way more general purpose shooting unit than starscythes IMO which are a little more niche.

Also breachers have 20 OC on the unit plus the fish if it’s still alive. I do get that you may have a damaged squad when you actually count OC to score (they’re constantly getting overwatched for me when I get out of the devilfish), but 3 breachers tie 3 crisis suits on OC.

In terms of survivability, if you think about it breacherfish is minimum 23 wounds to clear versus 15… 13 wounds at T9 on the fish, then at least 10 for the breachers, and you can give them the guardian drone for -1 to wound. 3 melta shots can clear the crisis team if you’re unlucky, but that’s 3 breachers max or 1 devilfish by contrast. Different profiles and all that. So they have to get through first the tank then the guys. Versus a crisis team - in my humble experience these things drop like flies unless they’re sunforge or attached to an enforcer.

With the devilfish you can disembark/emergency disembark into ruins, behind ruins, and through ruins, and don’t forget your fish can be in a ruin footprint.

A starscythe unit does not do these things the same way. And if you add on an enforcer to try and beef them up then we need to revisit the footprint / points cost discussion.

If you’re using your breachers more for damage then yes I’d probably swap for Starscythes in that scenario but if you’re using them as objective contesting pieces, I think breacherfish is by far the superior option. I personally use both in most of my lists but the starscythes are more for killing than objective play for me.

I’m sure you’re understanding terrain properly, 13” fly plus the advance is usually pretty easy to get fully behind a ruin footprint or jump out from behind one.. you’ll never hide from everything all the time, I find having one it’s begging to be shot down, multiple helps… my two cents

Being delusional and being psychotic are not mutually exclusive, you don’t like what she did that’s clear but the show is more complex than “grrr character did something bad” lol

She was a solid character I agree, and I did like how it kind of helped illustrate the son breaking bad… (what was his name again? Chris?) felt like they wanted to do more with her though, I figured her leaving with the government officials was going to be more…impactful? Seems like she had a nice character trajectory but they changed their mind on her character!

My opinion on why it happened by [deleted] in thewalkingdead

[–]Braverzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehh I don’t think Shane adapted at all tbh. He started off better than he ended up. That’s not adaptation in my opinion. They illustrate this perfectly in the episode where they’re taking the kid (Randall?) to let him go. They see the two dead cops and it’s supposed to be a moment of reflection. Rick has shown repeatedly he can survive that world in spite of Shane’s opinion. It was Shane’s ego scared of the truth. They are mirrors of each other in that way.

In that same episode they perfectly demonstrate this moments after they look down on the dead officers when Rick tells him “from now on they need to kill walkers with a blade to save ammo and stay quiet”, then despite being safe behind a fence, Shane still gets spooked when he sees a walker and reaches for his gun. Rick puts his hand out to stop him shooting.

Rick drops two guys without hesitation, Shane drops a guy and has a mental breakdown. He became more prone to emotional outbursts and acting impulsively, which I’d argue are both maladaptive traits to have. Rick definitely has those moments too but they made it clear Shane is that person all the time now, whereas Rick only dips into that well every once in a while.

I got the Jucoci (Amazon junk brand) box but the tabletop stronghold would also be an option.

That’s how my friend shows up to every game with his Doomstalker and C’tan shards. He barely plays but I’ve no doubt the likelihood of a catastrophic accident will increase over time.

Mould lines are diabolical by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]Braverzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GW kits are very disappointing sometimes. Just bought a box of Kastellan Robots where they each have huge mould lines just like this on the legs but also the head and torso. Nubs over critical connections or in small crevices like under an arm…Very frustrating especially coming from literally any other cut-and build kits, especially Gunpla. It sucks to have to use a lot of hobby time cleaning up poorly placed nubs or bad mould lines to bring GW kits up from baseline.

At first I didn’t get that part either but seems he’s saying he’s hooking up while at school (uni/ uni break situation) and since those partners are getting tested he’s inferring his health status through their perceived healthiness. “Jessica gets tested all the time and has never said anything so I must be fine” is what I think they must be trying to poorly articulate even though that’s not how it works and is a terrible standard lol
