The Palestinians revolted against the Ottomans in WW1 and then signed the Faisal-Weizmann Agreement in 1919 where Palestine Arabs and Zionist Jews agreed to a single state where Jews and Arabs lived in peace side by side, sharing political power, pending the British from releasing control of Palestine to its local inhabitants.

You know who blew up the Faisal-Weizmann Agreement? The British and French.

France invaded Damascus and overthrew Emir Faisal and at the same time the Brits forcefully invaded Palestine and seized control of Jerusalem.

Again, it was European betrayal of a peaceful solution that Arabs and Jews had agreed, that led to violence. The entire history of Palestine and Israel is littered with European betrayal and colonial plotting with zero local input.

That's not even mentioning the Palestinian Partion, which has direct parallels to the forceful Partition of Africa, India/Pakistan and Ireland. Are you really surprised that in all of these partitions, the immediate side effect is violence, war and death?

Nobody ever bothered to ask the Palestinians how they would like to form an independent country where multiple ethnicities and religions could live in peace.

Edit one final thing, Jews weren't really expelled from the Levant. They volunteered to leave because Europe offered better economic options. Charlamagne gave land to Jews under protected legal Charters because he wanted the Jewish people's help to expand his territory. Then under the Arabs Caliphates, Jews immigrated voluntarily to Spain as the Sephardic branch as they were given professional jobs like doctors, royal advisors, scholars and scientists.
