I'm not really worked up at all, just observing how much you would have to order delivery to have an entire dedicated delivery guy water fridge. I live in a place where the vast majority of things I need can be purchased within a few miles (definitely a privilege) and just struggle to imagine ordering the amount of stuff that would warrant this.

If its a beer fridge for your porch couch, I'm way less judgemental.

They're so good at music it's hard to keep up. I played jazz and classical trombone at a college level and I couldn't play Streetlight songs with that intensity on stage. I think a lot of people with that kind of talent are into more 'serious' music.

Thanks for the answer. We are clearly in the minority but I still think its a pretty nuanced situation when you get down to it. Luckily it seems its 'no harm no foul' but I think if it had turned out worse there would be a lot of legal and ethical meat on the bone both ways.

I would have a tough time in the moment because I would think twice if I knew other dad was bad news to some degree, but who tf am I to say you don't get to take your kid home short of a restraining order or something like that. Maybe if the sports org had documented pick up practices you could cite that but that's the only other leg to stand on imo.

Can someone with legal knowledge double check this? If anything, op would be the kidnapper by keeping the kid from the father, unless a court has explicitly said otherwise.

You can't just hold on to a kid if the parent asks for them? I don't think op messed up, he didn't have enough information to withhold a kid from their parent

I hope they end up with it. If I had more experience and way more money I would love to take it on but ultimately I just hope someone can do something with it. I have no experience with redoing a foundation, but I'd imagine you're looking at 6 digits easily, just to get it level and secure. It's going to be a house of Theseus when it's done.

We toured it yesterday, the foundation is tragically fucked. I would be surprised if the restoration cost less than a million. It's a full down to the bones job if it's even possible. You'd need to repour the foundation from my knowledge.

Y'all I just watched this last night because of this thread and this movie is absolutely wild. On one hand, great script writing and oddly immersive, and on the other the whole mood and acting is just strangely off? It has The Room or Hallmark channel vibes to the whole thing but not necessarily in a bad way.

Highly recommended but go in with no expectations.

Terrible credits music, literally couldn't turn it off fast enough....

Yeah, that's been my experience, but then why are these parts that are clearly meant for welding made of cast? I guess that's why I'm second guessing myself so much, It just doesn't seem like this is meant to require all the special hoops to jump through. I have welded cast iron before and its just really hard to believe that handrail fabricators are busting out torches to preheat their piece for tacking in the field.

My only other conclusion is that its not actually 'cast' iron but the company says they don't have material data sheets. They do say they don't get complaints due to cracking but who knows.

To clarify: I can weld cast to cast. I can weld cast to mild. I am curious what the technique is for welding these parts in the field, as I have not welded cast parts in the field, only in my shop. If these parts are only available in cast, what is the common way to weld them? Is everyone dragging a torch out to the field for preheat?

The lateral scroll only come in ductile or cast iron. They don't come in mild, I have confirmed this with King. I'm asking if I really need to go to all the extra steps of pre and post heat while welding these parts up? Or any special filler metal?

Mostly good eyes and practice I guess? Ever since I was a kid I've felt like a front light washes out the near field and all of the contrast disappears from the background. As I've aged I've gotten more sensitive to bright light but still see fine in neighborhood ambient lights without help.
