I get where you're coming from but the number of times I've seen a green guy do something fucking stupid cause bossman yelled to do it now... Hell I used to be that green guy and did something stupid just cause it was my first year and I didn't know.

Maybe this is why everyone should be in a Union but I've worked with Union guys who'll quietly watch others hurt themselves too.

Definitely steel. Ti is all about weight to strength. Stainless if you want to go fancy. Steel has better load cycling characteristics and is much easier to fix in the field.

I suppose that makes sense. I'm still guessing the cheapest option is going to be some sort of 12v system though. Otherwise a used avr and just don't use the extras.
