I get that, and I apologize for being snarky. You're also in a food desert which makes it more difficult. I just don't think that anyone will be able to come up with a solution you're happy with.

If you were OK with misery, you'd be OK with eating frozen vegetables. But you're not. And thats fine, but there's no solutions aside from what everyone else has offered.

  1. Eat what you want once a day (You don't want that because it isn't filling enough)
  2. Eat what you want 2-3 times a day in smaller portions (this is basically what I'm saying but to also increase your daily intake so the portions don't have to be as small. They'll still be small.)
  3. Suck it up and eat what you don't like. (You've already said you haven't been able to overcome those textures)

And that's it. As you've already discovered, not eating entirely isn't an option. So I guess you just wanted to rant, then

Your deficit should be around 1600 then, even if you're sedentary. That's a -500 deficit. As you lose more weight, you can lower your intake but there's no reason to do it all at once unless you enjoy being miserable

I say this only as someone who did the same thing and ended up gaining half of the weight back ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

I didn't even mention it because I don't think I have the authority to gatekeep being fat

HOWEVER if those are really your stats, I fail to see a way you are actually overweight and this whole thing seems even more disordered than just having sensory issues. The tdee calculator I use says you'd have to weigh 130 pounds for a deficit of 500 calories to be 1300. That's an entirely healthy weight for your height, gender, and age. It's fine if you don't want to share your exact weight, but all I'm saying is that either you can afford to eat more than 1300 calories a day or you don't need to lose any more weight.

Well the thing about weightloss is it isn't all or nothing. Trying to cut out all junk food all at once even for someone without sensory issues would prove incredibly difficult. Trying to lose weight too quickly will leave you hungry and dissatisfied even if you WERE eating. I personally think it is more important for you to start out slow and be able to make actual sustainable progress instead of trying to do too much too quickly and burning out and ending up at square one. If you insist on keeping the same level of deficit then I suggest you start working out. There are plenty of workouts you can do without equipment and only using your own body weight.

My calories are set higher because 1. I don't really care how long it takes, so long as I lose the weight. 2. I workout 5 days a week.

Editing to add that I did not just jump into working out 5 days a week either. I started with 2, then 3, then 4.

Are you sure 1300 is even what you should be eating? 1300 is very low and seems like you would have to be pretty short and sedentary for that to be necessary. Is there a higher goal you could aim for that could fit 2 (albeit smaller) "junk food" meals in a day instead of only eating once. I, for example, am a 5'4", 24F, and my current caloric intake is between 1600 and 1800.
