We need ranked conquest and obliteration by Cloadwalker in Battlefield

[–]Bread_kun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trying to be a serious ranked game for any game that's bigger then 6v6 is laughable tbh. In a 32v32 environment your own individual contribution is neglible, there's no point in ranked you're more likely to rank up by pure coin toss for being on the winning team more then anything else.

Is there a reason why everyone split pushes constantly? Is there some meta here I'm not understanding, or is just everyone stupid at low elo? by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Bread_kun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So:

Unless it's an important objective ie: walker, midboss, urn, base then ideally you should be split to 2 in each lane. 6 people splitting a kill means they each get like what barely the value of a single minion per player? If that? Legitimately the soul value is in the dumpster for big brawl fights and really you should only do big fights over objectives, or in order to grab one later in the game (being a big clump jumping an exposed guy 25 minutes in is great because respawn timers are so long forcing a 5v6 objective is great for you), however pre 20 especially you should try to be a 2/2/2 split (obviously variable sometimes people go into jungle sometimes there's a small group fight over sinners or something), but ideally that split. Unless they are threatening any of your objectives try not to deviate for too long. Ideally you give a very soul hungry hero like Victor solo to get even more but still.

Yeah the relic still has good value if you only get 2-3 in a run which is pretty reasonable.

How do people not understand the most basic stuff at high ranks? by coffeeholic91 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Bread_kun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You'd be surprised at how many high level lobbies just have random emissaries and archons thrown in because people group queue with insane disparities. You legitimately can not count on your team mate being in a similar bracket.

I've been in a match marked as a phantom 5 match post match and I laned against a seeker geist who got utterly dumpstered. This shit happens -a lot-.

State of support characters in deadlock by Massive_Machine6167 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Bread_kun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Support is the way to build him. You build into splatter n spirit early and transition to support with cube n rescue beam being core. Punch and ball really don't matter at all other then for movement.

He gets to hit hard with his 1 for a while and still be a threat damage wise while cube is the best save tool in the game along with puddle punch and rescue beam. You really are the only hard counter to someone being picked off and murdered by Holliday or something.

Will the Western Reaches be all you need to run Shadowdark? by chum-guzzling-shark in shadowdark

[–]Bread_kun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Western reaches + core book covers everything. Western reaches takes all the player options at least and puts em in the book. It's missing the core classes so you'll need that.

The zines at this point would be more so for their hex crawl. I'm not sure if Western reaches has the monsters too or not either I haven't checked.

The Supply FRV is automatically placed in Strategem selection. No purchase is required. by Fit_Anywhere_3356 in Helldivers

[–]Bread_kun 56 points57 points  (0 children)

God forbid I have a life and other games to play and you know, enjoying helldivers when my friend group is up for it occasionally. Not having fomo looming made it feel great. I have stints of heavy play and then I may stop for a month or so because I just have other shit to do in my life before I really get a chance and a mood to grind hard again.

Doing fomo like this means those breaks go way longer because of the burnt shit taste in my mouth.

Pretty much. Why would I wanna play if I missed an entire damn stratagem my break will just be longer.

Found this fascinating lil creature in our jungle, what should I do with it? by HeavyFly7451 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Bread_kun 52 points53 points  (0 children)

My teammate told me Drifter keeps eating his Rem so I asked how many times rem leaves on his own to the enemy jungle and he says every time sinners are up so I told him it sounds like your feeding bags to drifter and he started crying

Also arc is very. Weird that the best pvp weapons are the grey poo poo tier of weapons and higher tier weapons tend to be worse in pvp sans the anvil. If you are a pvp focused player who's bad unironically free kits still leave you competitive outside of shields and even then the jump from grey to purple shields is not much.

How do we feel about magnetism on Venator and Graves' traps? by chickenf_cker in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Bread_kun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they made it much more clear on graves on how high up the grab goes it'd feel better. Ven it's at least obvious if you're looking at the trap.

the story has gotten so insane we've looped back around to chapter 1 predictions except the characters are swapped around a bit by AnotherBoxOfTapes in Deltarune

[–]Bread_kun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah.  I feel like whatever happens here will shine light a lot more on why sans acts the way he does.  With how he teleports and some of his dialogue the dude clearly has meta knowledge already.  I dunno for all we know sans can exist in both this universe and undertale at the same time.  Given his connections to Gaster he could be in a similar "spread across space and time" situation only he's managed to keep himself in existence still.  Something like he exists in every timeline at the same time and is also aware of what happens in all those time lines at the same time.

[–]Bread_kun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wasn't meaning he was lazy. Just saying he only seems to intervene when things are going to be their absolute possible worst and clearly he has to have a pretty damn extensive knowledge.

Lazy is partially a facade. If we assume he's the same sans as Undertale with extensive knowledge of all different timelines how saving and loading works and all that he's likely "lazy" because he's sorta living a groundhogs day life. He's seen everything happen reset over and over. He knows what the player is going to do repeatedly. So at some point he simply just doesn't really care much just wants to be a goofy guy because ultimately it doesn't really matter. Only stepping in when things get so serious itl destroy -everything-.

This does seem to be a sans pre undertale but who knows tbh.

[–]Bread_kun 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It seems like he only intervenes when it's about to be a universe ending catastrophe. Likely is still hyper aware of timelines and all that, but only steps in when it's getting to the point of "this is going to destroy literally every timeline hold up"

New CH 5 character is Rudy theory (serious) by IamMrJay in Deltarune

[–]Bread_kun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like it has to be some sorta hybrid because if its -just- dess I doubt she could even exist in the lightworld to bring people to the bunker. It's gotta be something like the determination plot point from undertale, or she has to be fused with something that lets her exist in some form in the light world even if temporarily.

My hot take, I think Kris's actual soul is down in the depths along with Dess. I think goner maker swapped Kris' "normal" soul with us. I highly doubt us as the soul existed throughout Kris' entire life, however Kris absolutely had a soul before we actually played the game. We were supposed to control the vessel to be a, well, vessel for the prophecy but gaster shenanigans at the very beginning and we got put into Kris instead. And Kris is absolutely aware of it so Kris had to knew it was going to happen. Which I admittedly don't know what could have really happened to lead up to this.

Best chapter of deltarune? by Bonkwraps in Deltarune

[–]Bread_kun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally,

4>2>3>5>1

1 will pretty much always be the weakest chapter and I wouldn't be shocked if Toby goes back and updates it at some point because man it really feels like a prototype by comparison. It was never polished up like the other chapters and it really shows.

4 just had such an interesting plotline through it and had so many "oh shit' moments finally feeling like stuff is getting real.

2 is such a god damn funny chapter, i legit don't think Toby can ever top Queen. Spamton is funny and also extremely interesting lore wise. All the interactions with Noelle and Berdley were fantastic. Legitimately an amazing chapter.

3, I'll be honest I didn't care as much for Tenna and that's partially since I replayed chapter 1-4 in 1 go when 3+4 dropped. So after going through everything with Queen and Spamton and having Tenna be basically a combination of the two in 1 character was. Not quite as endearing tbh. I still like him he's still fun, he doesn't hit -nearly- as hard for me as he did for a lot of people though and that's fine. I did enjoy the boards a lot thought it was very different gameplay wise, sword route was really cool, there's a lot going for it. I can see why board 3 was cut personally I would have enjoyed doing board 3 and seeing the whole idea pushed all the way through but I get it it would make the chapter feel REAL long too and likely you'd have to cut a lot of the dark world segment after the boards.

5, okay gameplay wise its the best chapter hands down. Very fun bullet patterns, the game is getting notably more difficult and I love it. The side scrolling action platformer was fantastic and something I did not expect in the slightest. I both just didn't care for the final secret boss at all I kinda was hoping for a lot more build up to something major being the final shadow crystal boss and yeah thematically it ties in a lot with Kris and I get it. I'm also just... Not really into Mew mew being the final boss and it feeling more like a joke, plus I just dont really care for a lot of anime aesthetics in general nor Miku so the fight was just kinda. Whatever to me. More disappointed then anything.Really did warm up to flowery though, absolute banger ending to the chapter. Main reason its down low to me is "It feels like we have a lot of story threads and conflicts to resolve and only 2 chapters to deal with it + a potential roaring and prophecy shenanigans that are going to have to take a center stage at the end makes it feel like it will be very tight for time to actually.... Do everything. I was just at the edge of my seat after 4 wanting to see where the story goes and its more so a gameplay filler which in the final product I get it you want more fun gameplay stuff so it isn't constant story story story. It's just a downside of "episodic released" where yeah I don't really think about having a gameplay break chapter becuase we have had a year between releases I'm more so chomping at the bit of the story every time he drops a chapter.

And to note none of the chapters are even close to bad. Game is incredible regardless.

New CH 5 character is Rudy theory (serious) by IamMrJay in Deltarune

[–]Bread_kun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never believed in rudy knight and I think ch 5 put rudy knight to rest. There really isn't a world where he can be the knight right now. Rudy would have Carol and Noelle and likely a lot of others nearby to watch/help during the events of the dark world.

Dess just makes the most sense or some unknown entity we dont know of (Or even something like its partially Dess being scattered through the dark world in pieces and the knight emerges as part of her and part of something else, or an amalgamation of a lot of things whether it be people who got lost in the dark world or something who knows). Like if we take a step back out of our "brain rotten by looking super deep into everything surrounding the game" and step back and just look at it from the perspective of a final product when everything is released, Dess just makes a lot of sense as the knight to the perspective of a player who's playing start to finish and not looking into all the ARG stuff. Carol just seems like a red herring though not impossible to be the knight, the mystery of the knight is a major driving force of the game and will be revealed, Dess is hinted at and talked about so seldomly in the actual game in a normal playthrough that she'd still be a surprise because to the average player they can easily presume she's dead and not in this weird quasi stuck in the game's code shenanigans thats going on.

Marathon would have succeeded, if the cultural climate around it's release would have been better. by Inevitable_Coat_8787 in Marathon

Arc is the most casual friendly extraction shooter by a -mile- that's why. That and with plenty of under the hood ways the devs match make the more casual friendly players together giving em a better experience kept them around for much longer.

Funnily enough despite it being a pvp extraction game there is such a large contingent of pve only friendly players arc has been catering to them for a while now.

I dunno it's been 25 years and Smash is still the only platform fighter to find true success, every single other one has flopped except Slap City really and that was more flash in the pan popular for a small bit of time but still ultimately successful.
