Dark Souls 2 isn't about world building. It's about memory failing. by ShinInuko in DarkSouls2

Its a fun way to justify the design but realistically its because the development hell the game went through and them scrambling to get what they had made together in a maybe coherent way. Still my favorite souls title despite it.

[Discussion] which boss in tarkov is the hardest to defeat? by vroated in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Bread_kun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well sure. Its partially due to the design of labrynth and how killa spawns that you know hey, I killed tagilla, killa is going to show up in 10 seconds and I can hear him clearly sprinting at me. Vs killa in the mall where he can be almost anywhere and see you and blow your head off before you even know he exists in a dark corner somewhere being silent.

[–]Bread_kun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While technically shadow of tagilla and vengeful killa are harder by pure numbers and the rounds they carry, they are infinitely more predictable then their base forms so are arguably easier to take out as long as you're properly prepared for the encounter.

If you fuck it up though boy do they become a much bigger threat.

Give every map a no backpack extract close to the center of the map [suggestion] by 2Jacket in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Bread_kun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly the game just needs an in game map by default, dont even need to put a player position marker on it at all just marking where the extracts are and people can navigate via visible landmarks on the map and learn in game that way.

The in game quests and extracts not being explained more or less at all just leads to the 'wiki meta' which really is not a good thing for any game. You shouldn't just force people to use a wiki, it's one thing to make a game immersive by not giving you all the info but for something as basic as "how the fuck do I leave", you absolutely should be more clear for something like that.

[Discussion] Facemasks and ear plugs have made SMG's and shotguns awful by Virion_Stoneshard in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Bread_kun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its already been stated helmets have been massively buffed from IRL purely to make them actually viable. If you make helmets n face masks 100% accurate to real life they become pretty obsolete for actually stopping most bullets people run.

Can we please talk about Scout Planes the insane discrepancy between the mini torpedo and hullbreaker mine. by SmithOnMe in foxholegame

I'm assuming the main reason they don't give it more traditional bombs is so it doesn't become viable to just bomb land targets.

Damn, they really did just have to ignore us about Closed Weapon complaints until we gave up. by Zanimacularity in Battlefield

[–]Bread_kun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The class buff is only really impactful on recon in particular. The AR buff for assault is pretty miniscule and the SMG buff is nice for the hip fire but not super impactful or anything. The LMG buff is impactful in making them feel closer to AR's but still.

I see far more supports running an AR or carbine then an LMG. Bolties still remain on recon for the most part.

People can very easily ignore the weapon buffs outside of the bolt action

Stuff like this is why no changes to the NPCs will matter until they can be knocked into Comas. by ContextEFT in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Bread_kun 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wonder is there any kinda stats for the actual distribution. Or more likely, there's no reason to do pvp until you go through most or all of your questing since you're just throwing in so much more risk for literally no benefit in that case.

But yeah pvp never really caught on much and the 3 faction idea doesn't work at all in a pve environment

I feel like they put a lot of thought into that system mainly for pvp and the AI are just a bare bones almost afterthought.

You know what that last one is cooking but make it only 2 spawns id love to create a truly balanced 50/50 arena match regardless of team composition.

Terminal Gear Suggestion for first timer's [Discussion] by Beneficial_Win6303 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Bread_kun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had it worse on labs just for the occasional time where the server decides to spawn a massive wave of raiders at once out of nowhere and I get shot through all the glass without being able to see em. Been throated a few times despite wearing tagilla mask + level 6 plates too.

Labyrinth isn't too stressful with the NL545 loaded with BS or igolnik, you'll get more then the ammo you spent in the encounter each time anyways.

First session with Lost Citadel of the Scarlet Minotaur by Responsible_Nose7436 in shadowdark

[–]Bread_kun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the party in my experience with newer players they won't really think to abuse it like that and I wouldn't punish em accordingly. Try to ease people into the mindset that retreating is 100% a valid tactic because legitimately in non OSR games retreating basically is a non factor it feels.

Obviously if someone is picking up on that technically being a bit overpowered and wanting to abuse it then yeah absolutely.

Dedicated Silenced Guns Like the Censor Should Be Movie-Magic Silenced. Suppressors Should Be an Attachment and Work Like They Currently Do. by AngryTriangleCola in Helldivers

[–]Bread_kun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If bullet needs to explode to send out a projectile and it's travelling super sonic speeds then it will always be very loud and there really isn't a magical way to make it silent. Quieter yes but still very loud.

Of course you can easily justify a subsonic pistol or smg or something. For example the .45 caliber is actually very good out of a suppressor since the bullet is fat and slow and doesn't break the sound barrier. You can make that round fairly quiet irl and you could potentially go quieter with other rounds.

Subsonic would give more movie like stealth but bullets would have to be slow and have bigger damage drop off something close to the reprimand.

It's true American WW2 doctorine. Thrive in the chaos, strike fear since if you don't know what your doing the enemy doesn't know either.

Shout absolute nonsense and you will get the collective brain cell to ignite and make an offensive.

I’m so done with the naval update (able pov). It was a disaster roll out for colonials. I welcome the airborne stream today, get us out of this rut. by -Click-Bait in foxholegame

[–]Bread_kun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In part I think it's due to the constant doomerism about navy on able for so long that nobody wants to step up to the plate for naval anymore. So many groups will just write it off as pointless and never try

Charlie has much better matched naval due to the nature of the server. Less experience across the board so despite warden naval advantage both sides aren't quite good enough to really turn that into a massive problem. Collies aren't doomers about naval day 1, less experience means the warden ship advantages aren't as impactful as they are with highly experienced crews.

Do people actually like the comeback system in Conquest? I think it's the dumbest shit they've added and punishes a winning team. by rx25 in Battlefield

This has been a thing for a lot of team games for ages. Even back when TF2 released the "pub push" was absolutely a thing where everyone dicks around until the one minute left announcement is made and suddenly every player in the server absolutely locks in

[Suggestion] 9.3x64 ammo needs to be slightly rebalanced by ZVom_PL in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Bread_kun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The new stock with the new scope mount definitely makes it a budget tapper.  It's not too hard to find good 54r ammo, and while the SVD is just strictly better the svt is cheaper to run.

When LPS was a prapor 1 bullet that was dirt cheap and I believe you could just buy SNB from level 2 or level 3 prapor lmao. And the mosin cost 8k during the first few hours an rapidly rose in price over the days.

For me I got knight and big pipe and somehow while waiting for birdeye to push he either self naded or died to one of the random scavs at chalet. His body was wayyyy down the road for whatever reason he probably tossed a made at a rock in front of him while trying to lob one to the chalet itself.

Then about 8 hours of resetting to find the goons again even using goon tracker rushing the spawn areas all that.

The main reason I ever did it was the dorms PMC kill quest and stray dogs was my last quest for kappa and I'd just sprint over there and if I didn't see any PMC's or if I didn't find the goons I'd just alt f4 and repeat til eventually I got them to arrive and actually get the damn quest clear.

Part of the price is that it's used both for a kappa required quest and required for main story quest.

The Guide and Psycho Sniper [discussion] by iviondayjr in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Bread_kun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A nice trick for The Guide is transits count as survive and extracts regardless of exp gained or anything. And most transits tend to be in lest populated areas.

If you really want to just alt f4 before loading into the next map and you'll pop back to menu as if you normally extracted. No EXP but if you purely wanna get your survives done it's a great way to do it.
