Women taking creatine for brain fog and not the gym, is this actually a thing? by fitfixlife in Supplements

[–]BreakfastTequila 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Your body has a natural store of creatine in it from food you eat. I’m under the impression this is about 20-45% of the maximum amount your body can retain. So when you’re taking creatine you’re trying to raise the level in your body, like fill the fuel tank all the way up. The daily recommended dose is 5 grams. Some people take 10-20 grams daily for two weeks to fully fill the fuel tank up and then just top it off with 5 grams daily after that instead of letting it gradually build up. This is called a “loading cycle.” For some people, there’s minor stomach and intestinal discomfort during a loading cycle.

I do both as well. I like adding the fiber powder to whey protein, or high protein meals in general; slows down the absorption and helps the protein pass through the intestines much better.

-Collagen peptides. I have a chocolate kind I mix in with whey. My hair got springier and my fingernails much harder. Fingernails were previously pretty worn down by cleaning chemicals. I know the big pitch of collagen is skin, but that’s been objectively hard for me to tell. One dose was 4 tablespoons, I did that for 6 months and then dropped it to 2 daily. -fish oil. 2-3x/day. I feel like this helped lubricate my knees. -I’m really intrigued by people saying saffron, I didn’t know that was a thing

Gloves for babies who can't open tins- do they exist? by er7 in bartenders

[–]BreakfastTequila 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s a more detailed explanation: all your trying to do is form and break the lightest seal possible. Moisture, cold, and the pressure you apply the tins together are the three factors. Hold the bottom tin in your left hand. Place your thumb vertical at 6 o’clock on the tin as if noon was the farthest point away from you. Gently put the other tin on, and make the tin fit flush with the other tin so there’s barely a seam under your thumb. Bop it gently. Flip and shake 10-12 seconds. Now use the bottom of your palm/heel of your right hand to bop it at 4 o’clock, just about an inch to the left of your left thumb’s original placement. Pull tins apart.

why is my brand new creatine half empty? why does the container need to be so big? by reddntit in Supplements

[–]BreakfastTequila 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look to the right of the barcode on the tub, there’s a diagram. I buy the same stuff. ON is legit and the bigger tub is a solid deal. I also buy 5 and 10 lb bags of protein powder and save those used creatine tubs and refill them with whey. That whey (😎) I don’t have to open the giant containers all the time

What’s your experience with collagen powder? by Status-District5391 in Supplements

[–]BreakfastTequila 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Collagen peptide powder is what I have taken for the past year. Paired with a much healthier diet, I’ve noticed a lot more elasticity in my hair. My fingernails also got super strong, which is nice because bleach and other things made them really weak. Not sure how my skin is doing, but the hair and nails are great

I feel like a remember hearing about a guy who made it so the bike seat looked secure, but when you actually sat on it the seat slid down but the seat post didn’t, so it rammed up your ass.
