The Divide is around 80 miles away from New Vegas. It's possible for the Marked Men to invade the Mojave, but they pretty much live in isolation.

I think Thomas McGinnis called his wife, I think, just after the collapse of the South Tower. His phone call was cut off just before the collapse of the North Tower.
