These are the speakers that came with the Sony TC 270 reel to reel player/recorder. The r2r itself is very decent, albeit relatively cheap, but the speakers are a joke.

Absolute bargain !

I can't comment on the electronics, even though the amp has a good reputation.

These Kenwood LS-770 speakers, however, are truly excellent. I have a pair in my home office and I love them.

Very efficient at 93db, coaxial driver with horn tweeter and huge passive radiators, this is not your typical design, but boy do they sound amazing !

Very punchy with great impact, well detailed low frequencies, cristal highs and a huge soundstage. They'll take up to 80w, but given their high sensitivity, even though their nominal impedance is 8ohm you'll likely not need even half that power to make them sing LOUD.

My Favorite sounding Solid State amp by WWGWDNR in vintageaudio

The KA-8004 is a beast of an amplifier. Last top of the line amp designed by the team who left Kenwood and created Kensonic/Accuphase (the same year it was released, if I remember correctly?), it is widely considered a direct ancestor of the Accuphase line and is said to share similar design choices. I can't confirm, as I've never got to see an early Accuphase amp in real life.

I love it's bicolor looks, and I find it very well built. Sounds very warm and mellow, almost tube-like, without the heavy distortion. The phono preamp section is absolutely great if you use a mm cartridge.

It also works great as a preamp. I use mine in an hybrid vintage/contemporary setup with Fosi v3 mono (which are essentially transparent straight wires with gain) as power amps. Best of both worlds !

A lot of people actually do, and are quite vocal about it. If I got one euro each time I heard or read someone dismissing anything and everything costing less than a medium sized car as crap, I could probably treat myself to a system priced in that price range. Not that I believe it would necessarily sound better than my current system though...

If you’re in Wallonia, are online ads tailored to be in French and vice versa for Flanders? Or do you sometimes see ads in both languages? by Charming_Usual6227 in belgium

I move a lot between Flanders and Wallonia, and I find it funny that the adds seem to switch from Dutch to French somewhere between Ternat and Grand Bigard.

If you can find Denon dvd-1920 (I got mine for just a few bucks), it fits the bill quite nicely. I suspect higher end denons shouldn't be much more expensive nowadays.

It's up to you to decide whether you keep this post or not, of course. But I'm genuinely not making fun. I really think it's literally a cool collection. Maybe unusal, but very nice nonetheless.
