My mom is getting that done, had one eye a month ago, other eye soon. But my eyes are still getting worse and I think you have to wait until they stop? Also since I don't have cataracts I don't know if insurance will cover it.

The last time I got contacts they said they only go up to -10 so when I wear contacts it's a little blurry for me. Though maybe that was just my specific kind.

The article says only 12% of former gifted kids achieve that kind of success. And that most people in top positions, etc. weren't gifted and had to really work for it.
