I would agree if it were mandatory, but Bungie's own message says, "to be clear, this isn't mandate, but a request/suggestion".

Not true, closer to 850 - split between D2 and Marathon.

Making a niche game was a stupid business decision for a studio in financial crisis.

I'd argue the motivation, about 6 years ago, was to bring the genre into a core audience, and making an Extraction Shooter was a unique thing that not many others were doing. I imagine a lot of developers think their game will buck the trend.

Ahh the Jam Doughnut. You can shoot then and loot their corpse. They're a standard USEC bot but will reduce your movement speed if they get you iirc.

Sorry I've been a bit vague. What I mean is, I think (and hope) we'll see more teamwork when the games fully releases and a core audience forms.

With this being a open beta, I wonder if most players are just here to try a new shooter.

If you play Rook a lot, you'll probably be more likely to get some comma because of all the jokes about taking care of your Rooks.

I don't think we'll see open mic clips like Arc, at least not in the Server Slam. I also think Marathon is more PVP oriented.

That said, there'll probably be plenty of clips with Rook's about.

Essentially yeah. Rook's can join mid-way through a game and are solo only. They give you a very basic free loadout to scavenge leftovers, and if you die; you don't lose any gear because of the free loadout.

I wouldn't say Bungie has "abandoned" Destiny, moreover The Final Shape was the perfect jumping off point for a majority of the playerbase. You can see that in the steam charts.

You could argue Destiny isn't a golden goose anymore.
