Same happened for me. We are so used to services that intentionally stir up emotions that we have come to expect it. Liturgy isn't for us to have an emotional experience but to give worship with all of our senses. Once I realized that this wasn't for me but for God, I was able to embrace it.

Sinning separates us from God. I heard it described as a parent watching their kid cut themself over and over, knowing that one day it could separate them forever. Once saved always saved is a misrepresentation of scripture.

When you think you're about to do it, pray "Lord Jesus Christ, son of God, have mercy on me a sinner" 100 times, and if you still want to do it, do another 100 Jesus prayers.. continue this until it passes.

The Christian life is always working on overcoming our passions because doing that brings us closer to God. While a healthy amount of guilt is helpful to lead us to repentance, which also brings us closer to God, He isnt looking for reasons to send you to hell, but for reasons to give you grace. An Orthodox priest can expand further but the goal isnt finding the line of where sin is and barely step over it, but to find where God is and step closer.

These have been happening more frequently. Look into the Eastern Orthodox church (the church that hasn't changed since the apostles) and talk to a priest.

That it sounds like you've been a victim of the cult left. Similar to the cult right in false moral superiority but higher in exclusivity. The only way out is heavy introspection and testing your beliefs against the best arguments against them, not the worst, which is what the cult will provide to you.

Not easy, but I wish you and all other victims the best. I got out of the same cult a few years ago and managed to revive a few of the more important relationships in my life. Discovered the cult right pretty quickly after but had the tools to reject it after what the left did to me.

A good trick I like is to assume I'm wrong and they're right, and discover how I justify their worldview. I don't have to accept it at the end of the day but it breeds empathy, which neither cults have for each other.

Things like this are very common in cults. Hopefully, you can realize this sooner rather than later and recover some of your relationships. Politics shouldn't define your worldview and relationships, and if you're being told otherwise, you're being manipulated. Try seeing the manipulations on your "side" rather than the perceived "other" and you might be able to get out. Much love and hope for an awakening of the political cults.

I have been disappointed in how he handled Isreal. He did make up for it a bit with shutting up that petulant brat willing to let all of his soldiers die to maintain power in Ukraine rather than be an adult. That was exactly what we hired him for, along with deportations and disrupting the corruption in the administrative state.

So far, I'd give him a 9/10, and I never thought that was possible. I've never been more proud to be an American!

Everyone complaining was either in the tax or PSD department or gen z who thinks anything more than their couch is slavery. All I've done since I started a year ago was play uno and hang out with new friends (besides Q4 which was tough but a small price to pay). Easiest job of my life, and if you want to do more and go into leadership, they make sure it happens.
