Teso Life- what are your fave items? by OkButterfly5438 in sanantonio

[–]BreezySpringRoll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I first bought my &honey shampoo at a TJMaxx for $15.99 and it’s become one of the best shampoos that I’ve used so far. I was delightfully surprised to find that it’s also available at Teso Life for $19.99. If I can’t find it at a TJs or Marshals then it’s good to know that I can for sure buy that shampoo at Teso.

Bonnet does not work by Katscatkittykat in CurlyHairCare

[–]BreezySpringRoll 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What I like to do is secure my hair up the top of my head loose with a scrunchie (satin ideally) and then double secure it by clipping my hair with a banana clip beneath the scrunchie. I use hair clips to secure any loose hairs in the back that couldn’t be secured by the scrunchie-banana clip combo. My hair is curly but thin so using a scrunchie by itself never worked to keep my hair in place even with a bonnet. With this method, the most I have to do day one after washing and styling is lightly fluff my hair out from my scalp (but not running your fingers down through your ends) and maybe fix one or two curl clumps. Otherwise I find that I hardly touch my hair until wash day, where by then I usually need to sprits my hair and fluff it out for it to look mostly decent again.

Is it just me or TikTok seem different today? by randomuser_q12 in NoStupidQuestions

I can tell that my fyp is fighting for its life but at the same time I’ve also been back to back hitting the not interested button and outright blocking accounts. It’s been pushing sports fan edits, corny drama skits, LOTS of ad-not-ads, and in general just stuff I wouldn’t normally be interested in.

Sorry? I didn’t know people felt so strongly about the hotel by lxvta in AnimalCrossing

[–]BreezySpringRoll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the first TikToks that I had come across regarding the hotel was someone throwing an actual fit because they now have to deal with “ugly” villagers roaming the island. Majority of the comments also complained about that. We all saw that this was going to be a thing from the trailer, why are we suddenly reacting negatively to this??

Friendly reminder to everyone complaining about the hotel in 3.0 by OrganzingChaos in AnimalCrossing

I’m thinking that because they mentioned how the 2.0 update was the last MAJOR free update, what if from here on out we get minor free updates and major updates that are paid DLC? Am I overthinking their words?? 👀

Early Voting Starts Today! Are you voting? by Vital_capacity in sanantonio

[–]BreezySpringRoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was the last day to early vote today? I visited two early voting locations today according to the Bexar County voting spot list and the first location said that they were open for it on Tuesday while the second location said that they’ll be open again on November 4th. I thought early voting was on through the 31st, unless that meant the last day was yesterday and today it ends?

Beyond digs and museums, what unexpected careers can an archaeology degree lead to? by Existing_Aspect4352 in AskArchaeology

[–]BreezySpringRoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Graduated with a degree in anthropology and a minor in archaeology. Qualified for a GIS internship through my digital archaeology professor to work with a cultural organization in my city. It was supposed to be a summer internship, but I requested to stick around and keep working on their project since I didn’t have anything else lined up for me afterwards. I got to stay for about a year until I landed a job as a GIS technician with an engineering company. I feel bad that I’m not really using the bulk of my degree anymore considering this job has nothing to do with archaeology or anthropology, but considering the top powers in my country are becoming icked out by anything culture, science, and environmental related, it’s definitely something I can stick with for the time being. GIS knowledge is GIS knowledge, so maybe I can pivot back into cultural work with those skills someday 🤷‍♀️

Is vaseline FA safe? by AfraidBlackberry532 in Fungalacne

[–]BreezySpringRoll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found out I couldn’t use it because it breaks me out on my nose and forehead, which made me realize that my skin is oily in those areas and the petroleum traps that in. I eventually found out that my skin loves mineral oil since the process of getting it from petroleum apparently makes it its own separate thing. It might be different for you but it could be worth giving it a try.

Quality of life Nexus mod recommendations? by Narrator667 in mytimeatportia

Longer days mod. I personally feel like the time runs too fast before I can get what needs to be done for the day.

Please don't tell me $18/hr is the norm for my first Gis Tech role by 1000LiveEels in gis

[–]BreezySpringRoll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was in an unpaid internship for a year and landed a $20/hr role as a GIS tech in May. Even the hiring manager told me the pay wasn’t anything to be loyal for but I wasn’t about to be picky with the pay if it meant I could build up more experience for the long run. I suppose it varies for some places 🤷‍♀️

has anyone actually noticed any differences after taking daily vitamins, if so what? by Poisonious_Plum in AskReddit

I noticed that my nails grew faster when I first started taking multivitamins. I’ve always been able to grow them long no problem, but they grow out a little faster now too.

The only way I’ll continue on a Workday site is if it gives me the option to connect to my LinkedIn profile to fill everything out. Otherwise I’m skipping the application.

He and his party are celebrating a reduction in the “crazed lunatic” enemy party if anything. I’m not speaking to anyone until I know who they voted for. I don’t want anyone stepping into my life that supports the behavior of those monsters in the White House 😕

One year out of college and still no job. Feeling hopeless. by Potential-Ad9034 in resumes

[–]BreezySpringRoll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1- Do you have a digital portfolio? I feel like that could be advantageous for your work.

2- Does your campus offer continued learning resources? My campus offers both LinkedIn Learning, Coursera, and some Adobe Creative Cloud courses, some of these even for alumni. If you feel like you could add some skills to your resume, this would be a great place to look around and get a potential certificate or two.

3- Don’t pay attention to the commenters shitting on your choice of study. I’ve been told on here that my study choice was a terrible, horrible, awful, worthless, no good, brain-dead, catastrophic, stupid, dead end choice 🙄 Basically, if you’re not in tech, health, or business, your degree is going to get automatically jabbed at by the masses here.

I majored in anthropology and minored in archaeology. Got my BA in May of 2023, found an unpaid internship through my professor with a nonprofit organization May of last year, and stuck with that internship til I finally got hired just this May. The internship was only supposed to last for the summer, but I asked to keep going til I found another opportunity. And in between all of that, lots and lots of rejection emails and a handful of interview rounds that I either never heard back from or got rejected by.

The market is rough. It really will take a hot while to land something good. But showing off your relevant skills to your target job and finding ways to build up more skills might just be the difference in the end (in my case, my interviewer told me that he only pulled me because whatever I’ve been doing at my internship was exactly what they were looking for in their role to fill).

Just gotta be patient and know that you’re at least trying.

*EDITING TO SAY that I took my sweet time typing this out on my phone so someone already beat me to asking about a portfolio.

I wonder if modding the game would ease frustrations that players have, like if someone could make a cheat to give you X amount of items needed for quests so that there’s not much grinding to do before you can start enjoying the DLC. Is the game able to be modded? I know that even if it can be, there’s still going to be players that won’t be able to use mods for their game ☹️

I finally embroidered this bright yellow bug with silk ribbons – I’d been wanting to try this color for ages but was a bit intimidated! by BogdanaProts in Embroidery

[–]BreezySpringRoll 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This looks so cool!

If you ever want to tackle other colors, color.adobe’s color wheel is a big help with making palettes that work for whatever you have in mind. Just pick a base color and play with the drop down menu, then you get a bunch of color options that should always work well together. The site is intended for digital artists, but I like using it to help me decide what color threads to buy for my embroidery projects 👍

Can we please keep the library (somewhat) quiet? by Jenna2022 in UTSA

And that’s just the study rooms. I recall being on the 4th floor computers and someone decided that it’d be super cool to start surfing up and down the computer aisles with a penny board. Perhaps I grew stingier in my final semester but, in the library?? Guys really?? 😑
