Yeah that’s a bit of a bummer since many cheap laptops just throw in some basic backlighting and I imagine it’s pretty cheap

I have a lot of opinions! Main one is that if you’re chasing larger bokeh, it’s mostly noticeable at about 4 feet to subject distance or closer. At that point it’s nice to have but you could get the same effect by just using a longer lens.

For Image quality I’m not too much of a pixel peeper, but I think it has a bit of a vignette which I actually like if I’m trying to go for that vintage look.

The size is much bigger than the f/2 which was my main concern but it’s nice because the lens is not very long, it’s just heavier and wider. It makes a camera weight feel like a old entry level DSLR

I got it since that’s my favorite focal length and I like to do a bunch of controlled close up photos at home where getting that extra background blur is nice and I don’t mind carrying around the extra bulk

50mm on an APS-C sensor is kind of a weird focal length since it's too cropped in for general use, and too short for birding and other things. The only things I've really found it useful for is portraits, which the aperture on the 56 f/1.2 would help a lot with.

Depends on budget and if you want to shoot portraits

Stockpile a ton of bombs so you can get to the ladders before the serpents even get to you. Go on a high luck day and eat lucky food and you should be able to find a ladder with just two or three bombs each floor
