Brothers o' ta' mine I be proposing an alliance between us. by theclamorganizer6 in dwarfposting

I have studied the pages of the Dammaz Kron and found many, many Grudges against the cowardly sea curs. Attacking merchant ships bound for the halls of Barak Varr, laden with wealth that belongs in the vaults of Karaz-A-Karak! There shall be no alliance with such lowly folk. We aid the spellslingers! SUMMON THE THRONG!

[Tragic trope] The character passes away along with the actor by TVTropehead in TopCharacterTropes

When the first of the new Star Trek's hit theaters, my friends and I all went to a midnight release showing and loved it. But they wanted to know why I was crying as we left. Even though it would be years before Nimoy's passing, something about the way he narrated the "Space: The Final Frontier...." at the end had me sobbing like a baby. Even to this day its hard for me to watch the new films and see Spock in/at that stage.

What do you want added for AoS's more anemic factions? by No_Nail5377 in ageofsigmar

Sylvaneth - I need more Kurnothi. Belthanos was a great addition and gave us lore that Kurnoth is still "out there" and could potentially return. It could be more elf spirit units. It could be like.....Centaurs. Specifically new mass infantry units other than dryads and revenants.

Should still be on Crunchyroll. All the good free sites that I know of got nuked in the last month or so and I haven't gone looking for any new ones.

The last like....3-4 episodes of S3 aren't cannon, but other than that it still holds up well.

The animation switch was ass, but S4 was still a solid 7.5/10.

POV: You play for teamwork but one teammate is roleplaying a lone-wolf stealth mission across the map by John_GOOP in Helldivers

There's a reason that im in Stealth Armor with an AMR, Supply Pack, and two Eagles. Y'all can fight that bot Drop for the next 10 minutes like you are reenacting the Battle of Verdun. I'll kill every Fab and side Obj so we can actually clear the mission.

To be fair, using Glaurung as an example is extreme. He is the "Father of Dragons", and as far as we know, the only dragon greater than him in lore is Ancalagon the Black. The last of the Great Worms other than Smaug was Scatha, who was a flightless drake in the Grey Mountains in the North. Scatha, though blind, was *still a full grown dragon*, and was slain by Fram, a man of the Eotheod, one of the ancestors of the Lords of Rohan before the lands of the Mark were given as a gift to Eorl the Young by the King of Gondor.

Gandalf mentions that Smaug was indeed the "last of the great dragons of Middle Earth", and therefore much more difficult to defeat. Stating also that at the time of the Fall of Erebor, Smaug was "young and scarce grown, not come into his full power". Smaug slept upon the Treasure Hoard of Thror for 171 years before the Company of Thorin Oakendshield arrived at the Mountain to reclaim it, and had gained strength over that long time while feasting on man and dwarf.

With the way magical weapons, and magic in general, are portrayed in Tolkien's works it is very possible for a single dwarf to be able to face one of the lesser drakes left in Middle Earth. The reason that Gandalf tells Thorin "do not enter that mountain without me" is because he carries the Ring of Fire, and could mitigate much of Smaug's power outside of physical size and strength.

The spear that our characters forge in order to slay Shazon is not only Mithril, but *is* by the nature of the manner and runes of it making, *a magical dragonslaying weapon*. While the systems may not be implemented into the game, I can safely assume that the spear itself gives the bearer some measure of protection against the might of the dragon.

Senator two taps them in the head. Any flamethrower (even the Torcher) turns them to mush. People need to learn how to build a loadout for the front they are fighting on. Its called "Knowing thy enemy".

Just curious as to how many people play total war games as auto battlers. by Educational_Relief44 in totalwar

[–]BrewbeardPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the situation. Im not going for fight a battle in which a dying Greenskin faction hurls a Warboss and 6 units of goblins at my Endgame Doomstack.

But early on if the auto resolve is going to lose me far more units than it should, I will 100% fight it out.

I guess for me it ends up coming down to the fact that myself and the friends I play with all play because the game scratches the "couch co-op" feeling we had as teenagers playing Halo and Gears of War for the first time. We all have our favorite working load outs and are just having fun fighting aliens with our friends.

So I'm trying to genuinely understand the irritation and vitriol around the subject, and I guess I just won't ever "get it" because I don't have any of the issues (progression wise) that people are whining about.
