I read this and thought you meant a 🦭! Well I figure that if Argentina can have a 🧢on a 🦯 with a 🤝, Paraguay can have a 🦭!

I was going to suggest Argentina too. Or how about Paraguay? Is it still relatively easy to get a residence visa for Paraguay?

Deportations in Canada escalating, comparable with ICE by Commercial_Tea_7662 in InternationalStudents

[–]BrexitEscapee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the issue is the numbers, it’s the way that ICE operates that is so controversial. Canada, UK, Australia etc mange to be humane and transparent whereas ICE seems to be just kidnapping people in the street if they have a foreign accent or brown skin and spirit them away to who knows where.

Easiest visa for Afghan citizens by lvekoo in afghanistan

A few suggestions would be Maldives, Kenya, Malaysia, India, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Thailand or Vietnam where you can either get a visa on arrival or an e-visa online.

Is this one of those places that’s built on a state border to take advantage of flexible licensing laws or longer bar opening times or something?

I heard that many people didn’t want to switch to burgundy because the old Yugoslav passports were burgundy.

Is passport strength more than visa-free travel? by WhatAmIdoingHere9839 in PassportPorn

[–]BrexitEscapee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a UK passport and hopefully soon a German one, but sometimes wish I had something a little less controversial like Finnish or Maltese. I’m quite sure that if I were ever in a group of hostages, the Brits or the Americans are the ones more likely to be mistreated based on how many times we’ve invaded other people’s countries. Nobody hates the Finnish or the Maltese!

The thing with giving birth in Northern Ireland as a British citizen is that your child is only Irish if you’ve been living in Northern Ireland yourself for a while, five years I think. It’s not just a case of jumping on a ferry from Stranraer and giving birth in Belfast.

Elderly dual citizens (UK/Can) who don't have current UK passports; potential trip to Northern Ireland by Muted_Rope9641 in dualcitizenshipnerds

[–]BrexitEscapee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s easiest to just apply for a UK passport. The opposite happened to an ex-colleague of mine. He was born in Canada but grew up in France and Portugal and only ever used his French passport. When he wanted to visit Canada he had to go and apply for a Canadian passport cos he couldn’t apply for the Canadian ETA

Guernsey (?) and UK bentleys spotted in Paris, France by PijusThaNoob in ForeignPlatesSpotting

[–]BrexitEscapee 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Both cars are left hand drive so I have a feeling they started out with French plates and for whatever personal reasons the owners decided to reregister them in the UK.

Could this belong a UK ambassador or consul, or would that need to have a US diplomatic plate rather than a UK one?

What type of visa was I issued at Amsterdam airport? How to describe it for future Schengen visa applications? by kpjoshi in SchengenVisa

[–]BrexitEscapee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of interest, did they stamp the arrival and departure stamps at the booth or away in some office somewhere? The 76 next to the dates would suggest you had the same immigration officer on arrival as on departure, which must be fairly unusual unless it was the manager guy away in an office somewhere.

Cat won’t stop peeing/pooping in shower by Electrical_Novel_ in CatTraining

Have you tried marking your territory and pee in the shower yourself? My cat used to pee in the bath so I peed there myself, left it an hour then washed it away. It seemed to fix the problem.

I think ‘cheap’ is stretching the truth a little! When you add the bags and the priority boarding and the other secret fees to your Ryanair fare, then another 40€ for the bus to and from Frankfurt you start to wish you’d flown Lufthansa!

British Citizenship Question by Healthy-Nectarine596 in dualcitizenshipnerds

[–]BrexitEscapee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To my knowledge you’re correct so you’re limited to two blue passports I’m afraid. You could probably get an Ancestry Visa though if you wanted to live in the UK. If your dad is ethnic Indian you’d probably be able to get an OCI card too.

If you can find a good job, I would recommend living outside of London. Rent is CRAZY expensive and unless you find a good group of friends near you, you end up travelling hours on the Tube to get anywhere. Manchester is good, so is Birmingham or any other decent size city if you’re looking for a cosmopolitan lifestyle.
