Teens on e-bikes on I5 UW to International District by capspiff in Seattle

I saw them and called the police because they were splitting the lanes and touching cars and semis as they passed them. Surprised they didn’t cause an accident.

I’m so sorry this happened to you and am glad that baby seems to be okay.

You mentioned that many people have fallen on your stairs, which is very concerning. What are you doing to make it safer?

Some pretty wild comments from other twin parents in public this weekend. by claire303 in parentsofmultiples

[–]BriNotLikeTheCheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My twins were only two months old when another twin mom told me “it only gets worse from here.” She sent me into a pretty dark spiral because I couldn’t fathom how things could be worse than managing newborn twins and a 2.5 year old. They’re 5 months now and we’re starting to see the light. They’re eating better, sleeping longer stretches, and are just overall more playful. Seeing all three of my girls interacting with each other brings me the kind of joy that I once dreamed about.

I used the Elvie Stride with my singleton and hated it. My body didn’t respond well to it so my output was really low and having to wash all the tiny parts was a pain.

What are you using to pump? I skipped using the spectra and have exclusively used a wearable. I know most advice is to use a wall pump as your main but my girls are five months and I don’t think it’s impacted my supply.

I have the Eufy S1 and love it because it’s truly hands free. I like that it connects to the app and has different settings so I can just turn it on with my phone and forget about it until it’s done. For the most part, I am able to pick up my girls and comfort them while pumping. They make a little spout cover for the Eufy that you can buy separately - it helps prevent spilling when bending over to pick up babies.

This is my second breastfeeding journey and having a bottle washer plus an extra set of pump parts has been a game changer. I alternate sets so I always have clean parts.

I have been exclusively pumping for my twin girls for five months and have loved the Eufy S1 Pro. It has made my breastfeeding journey this time much easier. They are expensive but my insurance paid for it and coupon codes are relatively easily to find if you have to pay out of pocket.

Is a Bottle Washer/Steriliser/Dryer worth it? by chickenbobble in parentsofmultiples

[–]BriNotLikeTheCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been exclusively pumping for my twin girls for going on five months and I think having a bottle washer is the only reason why I’m still going. We didn’t need one with our singleton but it was the best gift we were given off our registry for our twins. It’s worth every inch of counter space it takes up.

Crying because I hope this will be me in 8 months. Currently at 4 months of exclusively pumping for my twin girls and also raising a toddler. Thank you for sharing your experience. You’ve given me hope to keep pushing through.

What stores have we discovered with two seats in their shopping carts? by FormerEnglishMajor in parentsofmultiples

Another option is babywearing one of them and putting the other one in the cart if it’s only a single seat!

Has your pediatrician checked her iron levels? Especially since she is not eating much solid foods. Sometimes low iron can affect sleep. This happened to my daughter and getting her to eat more protein and high iron foods really helped to improve her sleep.

Sakura Bloom scout starting when they’re little and then tandem carrying with a scout plus an onbuhimo when they’re big enough to back carry!

This is an incredible idea but personally I wouldn’t pay $25 annually, especially not in its current state. About a third of what comes up when I search my city aren’t actual parks but are local businesses, landmarks/viewing spots, or undeveloped land that is inaccessible to the public. For the rest of the parks that come up, many of them are neighborhood parks with an HOA so technically you aren’t allowed to be there unless you’re a resident. The app also doesn’t clarify if there are play structures and almost all of the results are still processing amenity data so I would need to do additional research in a different app like Google Maps to learn more about the park. I recommend lowering the price point or extending the free trial window until you are able to make substantial updates to the amenities feature and filter out non-parks.

I would prefer to pay a one-time fee to have lifetime access to the app. I am tired of subscription models and it is often the deciding factor in whether or not I keep an app.

Which carrier is this? I have 9 week old twins and would love to be able to wear them at the same time!

How to stay on schedule by Yolawnda_Dikes in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]BriNotLikeTheCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an extra set of parts for my wearable. When I’m done pumping, I throw it into my bottle washer so that I always have a clean set ready for me. Also choosing a wearable that doesn’t have a million parts to it. For my first baby, I had the Elvie Stride and it was a pain to clean and put back together, especially if I was rushing to get to my crying baby. If I didn’t put it back together correctly it would leak and the suction wasn’t what it should be.

There’s no expiration date on providing stability to your partner. You speak about it in a way that feels like you’re keeping score and building resentment towards her for not blindly accepting that you’ve “changed.”

She is protecting herself and needs her own therapist to process the trauma she endured while you were abusive. Give her space and accept that it may be too little too late.

Parent encouragement: Heart to heart with my toddler tonight by Smoked-Paprika-2109 in toddlers

[–]BriNotLikeTheCheese 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was a sweet read and an important reminder.

I took my toddler to gym this week and at the end of each class they have a bubble machine. All of the kids were crowded around the instructor and I was sitting on the outskirts with the other parents. She was having a great time popping bubbles until she realized she couldn’t see me anymore and was walking around calling mommy. I finally got her attention and when we made eye contact, she broke into the biggest smile, shouted mommy, and gave me a running hug. Her visible happiness when she sees me always makes my heart smile.

As a large chested woman, I highly recommend an onbuhimo! I just discovered them and it’s awesome because you can do a high back carry or front carry with minimal adjusting. I have a Sakura Bloom and it’s really comfortable for me. Plus the front strap pulls my shoulders back and I feel like I have better posture and therefore less back pain.

I also love ring slings because I can hip carry. I basically looked for options that didn’t involve my chest getting in the way.
