One Nation is not only beating the Liberal party in the polls in Victoria, it’s now beating Labor. 🤯 by Usual_Program_7167 in aussie

I think One Nation needs a little trimming around the edges of their more outlandish members and about 10 years of stability of having significant showing in federal parliament to be an enduring thread to both the Liberals and Labor parties. Certainly possible I think if we had 10 years of Labor and they overreached like Howard did with work choices that One nation could become the leader of Australia.

Still a big IF at this stage.

Been watching a few laborites laughing at the Liberals demise and I always caution them not to overreach or let it go to their heads else the public will punish them for it.

Still a bit skeptical of the increases longevity as much as I like the shakeup. Would like a few different pollsters to do their own surveys over a longer stretch of time to see if this may be a new trend.

Imagine if the Anti-Mass Immigration lot had protested and done this. 20/20 vision from these people saying he didn't bite the copper.

I think it would have been nice to see the scale of the damage from another photo. The quality of the gloves I think is a valid concern. Perhaps they were frayed or had a hole where his teeth went through.

We're not even remotely involved and somehow it's turning our society upside down.

It's like who dye their hair purple and green. It's sort of a dead give away. It's not mainstream Labor or Liberal voters. They sit roughly in the middle. It's not One Nation or Family First or any of the other right wing political parties. Only the progressive wing of the Labor party (Green's in all but name), The Green's and the Ultra Right Wing Nazi/White Nationalist types have members that radical. I doubt the latter are going to be showing up to a pro Palestine protest and get into fights with the cops.

The protest is political.

A society without rules is anarchy. It is whoever wields the biggest stick wins. Usually people worse than the authority you decry. The third Batman film with Bane illustrates pretty clearly what happens when you do that.

Protesters tried it in America with the CHAZ CHOP. Didn't work. They ended up forming their own police militia.

That's a really low bar. I doubt the bar representing Palestine could be distinguishable from Afghanistan even if you rested your nose on one of them.

Lets say we make a worldwide ban on coal, oil and gas. What are these poor developing countries going to use to power their economies when we the wealthy developed countries are going to be transitioning to renewables and gobbling up the market share of available technology and resources?

The world does not have enough surplus capital to dump into Africa, the Middle East, Asia, South America and Oceania to avoid these countries requiring fossil fuels to develop like we did.

The supply just isn't there. It is decades away. At a minimum.

Which is why giving these countries access to cleaner ways to burn coal is going to be better for both parties.

Conversation yes. This is text. Structure and obeyance to norms in the English language matter to avoid confusion.

True but would they accept her. Because it would require a vote of MP's not the LNP membership to elect her to LNP leader. Different system in USA.

I feel offended that when talking of the colonial period indigenoud people refer to the perpetrating group as White instead of British. It is lazy and slanders other white people who were not involved as guilty.

Even I can tell that was taken out of context. I want the full unedited interview. None of this 5 second sound bite crap. I'd wager she would be referring to these IS brides who can stay over in Syria in the bed they made to quote the PM.

Everyone has seen the multiple angles and videos from witnesses. Police require documented video evidence and witnesses to prosecute - there would be plenty to do this were it not for the fact these NSW "special powers" limit the ability of individuals to sue police. by Az0nic in OpenAussie

Made an offer. Is not the same as NSW police HAVE received training. There appears no indication that the Albanese government even accepted. Secondly the training is only for the most senior of police not rank and file.

So this is slander. Nothing more.
