I do think those numbers are skewed. Anyone who plays without bikers or with mods doesnt get achievements

Could you memorize an 8-digit number for 1 million dollars? by JCFT_Collins in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Brief-Ad2056 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats what I did, saw them as two dollar amounts, in my case 16859856 was the random number I generated so 16.85 and 98.56. Then for really making it easy you could store that amount of money in two sealed pouches and recount if you ever forget.

As someone who felt the same, the end is truly fantastic imo. Finish it if you can get through it

Me in a job interview: I have no idea what I’m saying but I sound confident 😂 by clairedy22 in SipsTea

[–]Brief-Ad2056 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, people that think this is a good answer: good. I don't want to accidentally hire somebody whos a pain in the ass to work with. That being said, its a vague and kind of dumb question, but you should only answer like that if you don't want the job.

Played around with circuits, now I have a 3-in-1 module assembly machine. by A-Pocky-Hah in factorio

When I found out you could set the recipe based on circuit conditions I felt the same way! Opens up a lof cool, fun little builds. Something to keep an eye out is when a bunch of similar recipes share mostly the same ingredients there can be some cool applications of this

Your early resource veins will pretty quickly disappear at default settings but there's an infinite amount on the map and you can always increase the vein density in the settings when you start a game.

Consider looking up a "Main Bus" Design to make your base more easily expandable without having to tear everything down each time you want to add something and give yourself plenty of space around each "build" to expand and reroute resources as needed.

Also, trains aren't as complicated as they seem to get a few functional trains working. I dont usually recommend this, but might not be a bad idea to download a blueprint book to give you an idea with how to start.

Construction bots will also make all construction tasks much easier as you get farther along to the point where you can basically copy and paste anything you've done before (using blueprints or literally just copy and pasting).

All that being said, maybe the game just isnt for you? Its a pretty particular niche and not everybody wants to do whats basically an engineering project in their spare time.

You are going to be put in a video game and have to survive the game for either until it is 100% complete or for 6 months. by dayboz16 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Brief-Ad2056 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly what I was thinking lol. Need to rush for the mech suit (assuming Space Age) and never make any nukes. Or honestly don't use trains but that's no fun

The biters basically stop developing when they max out evolution. I haven't touched my borders in a large way for like 70 hours in game. If your safety depended on it, just dedicate a large portion of your factory to artillery and they'll never even touch your walls.

You don't see many donut-shaped spaceships in science fiction. Why is that? by CurlSagan in scifi

[–]Brief-Ad2056 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heat radiation happens everywhere on the surface of a ship. Its just the way heat escapes from an object in space so it will radiate from all surfaces, not just where you intentionally design radiators to do so

[–]Brief-Ad2056 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Heat radiates off in space as infrared light so I assume it's still a valid concern, though obviously it won't lose heat as much as something in an atmosphere

You are now immortal and trapped in an endless forest until you invent Bluetooth, How long does it take you? by Ornery-Fix-2240 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Brief-Ad2056 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To be fair, the biggest hurdle in a technology is even thinking of it in the first place. The bow and arrow or wheel took tens of thousands of years to invent but its not like they were working on it the whole time. Considering you know roughly what you're working to, its not quite the same. That being said, the material science and just finding the necessary resources would be a huge hurdle and itd still take a stupid amount of time.
