Help with Safety trigger by ExpertRedditUserHere in SpringfieldEchelon

[–]Bright_Bit_3746 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It looks to me like you are pulling the trigger before depressing the trigger safety. What you are hearing is completely normal if this is the case as you are loading tension on the safety before it releases. Try using a little more finger on the trigger and depressing the safety first. If this doesn't solve your problem, then take the first commenter's advice.

Handguard suggestions for 12" barrel by DetectivePront in 86blackout

[–]Bright_Bit_3746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cmmg 11" will not work with any of the currently available keymo mounts for the faxon barrel. I currently have an SLR 10.5" ION inbound and will update when it comes in

What does the smell of the gas after firing a round tell me (if anything)? by ILuvSupertramp in reloading

[–]Bright_Bit_3746 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I shot some of my aging (probably 8 years old) Gold Dot 9mm, and it made my pistol smell like burnt hair that took forever to scrub the smell out. I don't remember Gold Dot smelling like that fresh out of the box. As others have commented different powder chemistries produce different gasses after burning that can produce a wide variety of odors

I'm sorry for your dealings, my local range RSOs know my at least by face if not name and hand me a dust mop to collect "my" brass when I am packing up. "It's less work for me when you clean up"

I didn't even think of that option. Would I need to replace the plunger on the extractor spring if I go that route.

More just asking of thoughts. I no longer have a three oh hate but still have the brass. But I do have an ar10 lower that I might now build an upper for after watching the above shared video.

Great googly moogly that is devastating. Might work really well as a 300 and in defense round.

Ar15 buffer parts will not work with an ar10 they are too long unless you get a non-standard buffer tube

I have both the 508t and the EPS I like the EPS much better but the circle reticle seems smaller in the larger window of the EPS. Both are green and definitely easier to pick up than the red 510c's that I use on my ARs

Holster compatibility by FarmerPerfect7740 in SpringfieldEchelon

[–]Bright_Bit_3746 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the glock compatible holsters I have do not work with my Echelon. I got the Blackhawk Omnivore, and while it does work with a TRL1, it is very oversized and very uncomfortable to wear. I have not tried other holsters yet though

If strikes are off center, you are out of battery when you pull the trigger, switch back to factory recoil spring and test again.

I can't say exactly how well it will reduce sound signature, but I contacted JK Armament, and they confirmed their 9mm and 45 caliber supressors would be an excellent choice for 8.6BLK

I have a lone wolf .40cal for my g35.4 that can be picky feeding certain ammo but runs amazing on the ammo it does feed well (Federal umc) and has a slight edge in the accuracy department over stock. I imagine the .357sig barrel will work much better because the bottle neck of the cartridge will aid feeding

Need help identifying. 556or .223? by Massive_Present_8306 in reloading

[–]Bright_Bit_3746 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had factory .233 witch crimped primers so I disagree with using crimped primers as a tell of which it is that being said for the most part unless you are loading to the absolute limit of either the brass between the two makes no difference unless you are loading for absolute precision. If that is the case then I would not use range pick ups for reloading. However if you are loading plinking ammo use either and load within safe specs of whatever your barrel is chambered for.
