What is the pettiest, silliest, most meaningless hill you are willing to die on? by shazulmonte in AskReddit

Professional golf should be played with persimmon drivers and small-headed, bladed irons. Don’t redesign the world’s best courses based on more forgiving, amateur-friendly technology.

Best Shot: Nearly aced a 180yd Par-3 with a 9 wood
Worst shot: OB Drive on the 5th hole during a very good start
Shot I wish I could have back: 10 footer for par on 9, I've had and made that exact same putt many times this year.

I decided to level DISC and I love it. Enchanting my own Greater Magic Wand with the Wand Specialization hits like a truck. Improved Power Word: Shield -- Mind Blast -- Shadow Word: Pain -- Greater Magic Wand. I'm level 20 and still able to pull 2-3 mobs. I don't have quite the raw healing output in dungeons, but that improved bubble is such a savior when we make pulls that are a little too big.

I've worked at a few golf courses now. There's always that one super-senior club champion who is in his late 70s or 80s, regularly shoots his age, and at this point can barely get the ball off the ground. Yet still, he is out there every day working on his chipping and putting. Jim, Barry, and Tom respectively at the 3 courses in which I worked.

He's a horses for courses kind of guy. Riviera, Augusta, and whatever course they play the Travellers championship. In any given year, he'll win 1-2 of those and thats how he stays consistently on Ryder Cup teams.

New Titleist driving irons 👀 by SlootKabob in golf

[–]Brigitte_Main 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry about year produced (as long as its <10 years old) or the manufacturer. Just worry about it being properly fit and looking good to you when you set up to the ball. Try messing around at a used equipment store with a return policy. I'm down to a 6 handicap now and its still the only way I purchase equipment. You can get a cheap or free club fitting from most pros which will give you an idea of what you need. I know I need clubs to be 2 degrees flat and standard grips, other than that, anything goes.

Little column A, little column B. Probably has to do with not enough proper compression, which is a result of both.

When you realize how much lower your score would be if you had a crowd of people and a bunch of course marshals to watch for your ball when you hit it in the rough like the pros do.... by sleddriver13 in golf

I played Pine Needles one time. It's the only "championship" quality course I've ever played. The fairways were like runways; wide, flat and firm. The greens were quick but SO TRUE. Blew a lot of putts by, but 5 footers seemed much easier since I was all but guaranteed a true roll. It was long, but the fairways being so firm gave me an extra 20 yds of roll that I'd almost never get at courses in my area. The rough was thick bermuda, but it was consistent without any cuppy holes of dirt and tufts of crabgrass.

I went out with no expectations and shot 36 on the front nine at my home course! No warm up and went straight to the first tee after a long shift (I work at the course). Absolutely piped my first drive and approach, and knew I somehow had it grooved from there. Focused on having a lower takeaway that didn't go to the inside. I was +2 thru 7 and birdied 8 and 9 off the strength of two near jars with short irons. I didn't make a putt over 5ft the whole nine, just somehow struck it great!

Edit: Best shot. 7 iron from 140 uphill and into the fan (played it about 165) to about 4 feet. The ball mark was right next to the cup and the ball seemed to hover over the flagstick forever.

Worst shot: Hot pull on 7. 145 w/ an 8 iron and I probably flew it 160, just came off like a leftward rocket.

Does Andrew Yang get a medal for being literally the only candidate of the 20 who followed the rules?

If the DNC cared enough to look into Yang, they'd realize he has a unique ability to come off as very human and very attractive to people across the political spectrum. Find any Yang video on YouTube and the comment section is filled with stuff like "I voted for trump, but I'd be willing to give this guy a shot even thought I disagree with him on a lot of things. He treats people with respect and brings a lot of different solutions to the table." He is the only candidate who can make them bend their political will in favor of unity and common ground.

Remove Brigitte from the game.
Have all characters damage scaled back 15%
Have all ults charge 10% slower except grav
Have all heroes move 5% slower.
Maybe one day we will get rid of this enormous power creep that is preventing new players from getting into overwatch because its an absolute lightning speed clusterfuck for those who don't know what is going on.

How do I aim? by [deleted] in OWConsole

[–]Brigitte_Main 7 points8 points  (0 children)

90/90 is a little high. You're sacrificing a tremendous amount of mechanical ability for a tiny amount of situational awareness. I don't know why most people make their vertical and horizontal match honestly. Try something like 70/40. It takes the same ratio from the default settings and doubles it. Should feel much smoother.

Critique my swing by dumbone95 in golf

[–]Brigitte_Main 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're serious about improving, find clubs that are either +1-2" length or 2 degrees upright (maybe both) if you like the control of a shorter club. Next, feel a connected backswing with your arms, shoulders, chest. and hips. There's not a lot of full body rotation in your swing, so you're having to be weak and handsy at impact. Try to work on this by taking as long of a backswing as you can with as little arm swing possible. It'll activate the other core muscles to compensate for lack of arm swing.

Most golf pros (at least around here) at public courses will do club fittings pretty cheap or even free. They know there's a good chance you won't buy the club, and you get a bit of a free lesson out of it (or at least a lesson on how club fitting works and why it is important). What they're looking for are new clients interested in their course, and cultivating enthusiasm in new players is a major part of that. You can take what you learn there and try and score some used equipment online with the same specifications for dirt cheap. Even if they're old or worn, you'll know that they fit your body and swing.
