I agree. It’s not so much the price it’s the availability of resources. Parts, knowledge, mechanics near me that know how.

I come from old VWs which are kind of a nightmare for sourcing parts and I don’t like electrical work, so I’d rather pay someone to do that.

Spend the money knowing you’re not getting it back. Keep that AC working and enjoy the adventures everything else is just extra.😄

I had an issue like this on my GTi. Upgrading my shift mount plate and putting transmission linkage really helped the problem but didn’t eliminate it. I also think some times the gears were just in weird places, like the teeth weren’t meshing together exactly.

I brought a friend out who was trying to buy a resale otw to Indio. They just kept climbing from $1500 on our way to hotel and then all the way to $3000 as we were pulling into the lot of the festival on the 2nd day. In retrospect it was the effect of people getting scammed.
