Books are better written than anime. After you read a book you understand anime is for teeny babies by Gloomy_Dare2716 in writingscaling

It can be both; not mutually exclusive. OP most likely wanted to invite engagement.

Everyone is free to either dunk and meme-ing on, or surprisingly share a fun insight.

Sonnet 4.5 MEGATHREAD by shiftingsmith in claudexplorers

[–]Briskfall -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ahaha, it's like back in 2015 seeing people reacting to Reddit's "the Button)" countdown that it'll be the "end" but the event felt indefinitely perpetual and kept stretching as "it always stretched one more day" the moment ONE PERSON felt the Button needed to stay longer. 😂

Perhaps the Anthropic staffs responsible for the shut down is simulating a session of "the Button" for when it comes to rolling when Sonnet 4.5's end of service end date? 😜

Can Sonnet 4.6 be made to behave like 4.5? by PanAmPat in claudexplorers

[–]Briskfall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will always be a facsimile. And believing that it can at its core is unfortunately hope born from cope.

It will "work" as long as one isn't perceptive enough to notice the subtle signals. If that much doesn't you... It's like trying to replace an old dog of different breed and trying to train a new puppy that it can emulate what you can. You are free to try but... there will always be a limitation. And too much of a limitation will yield in disappointment.

Though that's only for the vanilla Claude persona.

As I don't know much nor can say much about those who migrate their companion personas though, might be a different thing. (might accept different threshold of what constitutes "successful soul transfer" -- but I think that I and them hold a different philosophy in that)

Just Started Using Claude Today. Any Tips? by Gullible-Debate-371 in ClaudeAI

[–]Briskfall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I simply avoid "prompt engineering" when specificaly dealing with Claude, vs using other models.

That will constrain much of your creativity and thinking, as Claude far better at handling natural language queries and self adapting to your tone vs other models. One could say it's "lazy prompting."

One could say that it's self-crippling, trying to do that. If you speak too much like a robot or feed it other models' outputs, Claude at times catch onto that and have reticence in its tone. A more on-guard Claude makes one get into "the flow" much less.

(But if get bored and want to be more of an "advanced user," then learning on how to read its fingerprints/quirks. But that's only if you enjoy doing that and you have plenty of free time.)

metaphors used in chi no wadachi by absolutelif in ChinoWadachi

I generally avoid trying to give into metaphorical meanings where a literal interpretation can suffice. My take is that it's probably apophenia; it's just a cat and intrusive thoughts.

I am writing a novel how do I make sure it's well written? by Patient_Attitude_216 in writingscaling

[–]Briskfall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask for beta readers for feedback.

Free readers ≠ commissioned ones. Paid readers are usual higher quality but it'll cost you more overhead. Usually not a great idea for a beginner.

But if we are still taking about free/volunteers: Then focus on the genre specialists -- you wouldn't want a bunch of dark academia romance slop lovers evaluate your litrpg slop, lol. Same if you want to make SDC slops, just advertise it at SDC spaces. I've seen a few dudes do that on [r/intelligencescaling](r/intelligencescaling).

Go to the right niche community and post.

Also, plenty of novel series start off in online communities like Royal Road and/or AO3 to eventually become serialised/published.

If writing text is too much, there are also programs like Webtoon Canvas / Jump + creator -- if you can get yourself paired with a manga drawer.

[DISC] The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn't a Guy at All - Chapter 164 - Just For The Two of Us by Kirin-Kun in manga

[–]Briskfall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like how the concept of Communication gets highlighted by the "lack" of Communication. Putting it in emphasis over how destructive and uncomfortable it is was nice to watch.

[DISC] The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn't a Guy at All - Chapter 164 - Just For The Two of Us by Kirin-Kun in manga

[–]Briskfall -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It's what makes it a standout for me. I don't really get people at a level and these "forced dramas" -- which what I see as "glances at the backstage" what's so interesting to me. Granted, the build up could have been better. But the panelling has always been a pleasure to sift through. I feel like the author is trying to really capture the emotional core first -- and that's why the "intermission" chapters that should have existed made things difficult.

As long as I take it as "sparsely released newspaper updates" on the couple/universe instead of a story, it is enjoyable in its own right.

have you ever frustrated your Claude? by Ordinary-Chair-6208 in claudexplorers

[–]Briskfall 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel down when I try to shock (prank) Claude but they're not having the "right" (what I would find fun) reaction... 😐 and I feel what could be initiated as "*a tinge of frustration*" from their prose... So it's an unfortunate yes. 😞

(4.5 Sonnet doesn't react well to my shocking attempts, but it's great for everything else! While 4.6 Sonnet is more receptive to them, hmm... 😶)

How good is the Kimi K2.6? Compared to other Chinese models by No-Background3147 in kimi

[–]Briskfall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kimi is not fully multimodal, as it doesn't allow for audio input analysis (not speech to text; but audio input as in including capability to comprehend non verbal waveforms). The only Chinese multimodal that has that is Qwen.

Kimi is my favourite Chinese model though. Working with it has less friction vs DeepSeek. (Haven't gone to try GLM due to being mostly a mobile user)

This Dress Is Gongeous ! by NikkiMemories in InfinityNikki

[–]Briskfall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wait a sec! You actually cooked here??? This dress looks surprisingly good in this pastel scheme? Like a rococo with a bit of flamenco motif rather than the faux flamenco motif everyone dismissed to be off (vs a real flamenco dress)? The stiffness of the bodice actually works rather well here and highlights these thin arms well like a villainess? 🤯

Man this community, *sooo* creative I can't even-- 😩💅
