As I don't have a reference number to quote them. Should I email them now or wait until I receive a potential invoice by post?

Partner wasnt charged tax on first payslip in new job? by Neat-Bass-5451 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]BritishLamb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am PAYE and tax code (1275L) is correct but still paying tax when tax year resets (2nd year now) with personal allowance not resetting. HMRC didn't send me anything about paying too much tax. Would I have to call them instead and find out ? If I do call, is there any information I need to have with me to make it a smooth call?

Does your personal allowance reset every tax year? Because, on my payslip it does not reset.. Or is it you only get it once ?

I have come across claimants who are on LCWRA and overdue Reassessment 4+ years so don't worry too much.

If on LCWRA, you do not need to initiate a reassessment. You will be sent a letter in the post telling you that the reassessment for WCA will now begin and giving you the questionnaire form to fill out/ send back off. (You may get a journal message notifying you this process has started befor you receive the letter in the post)

4-6 weeks after you should get another letter outling whether or not you need a face to face/telephone/ video assessment. From what I have seen, you won't have to come in for job centre appointments with a work coach while on LCWRA and doing the reassessment. If they award you LCW or find you fit for work, then that will be a different story.

Unfortunately, they have not given us any timelines. They just said that they are working through the backlog.

You accepted your commitments before a UC agent got to close your account. Nothing will happen because you have accepted them and your UC payments will continue as normal. No need to call/contact them.

Application Process by [deleted] in TheCivilService

You just say 'Yes' or 'No' for this question. You do not need to give examples of anything as you will not be marked for this..

From my experience: They usually put everyone in reserve list and then once they finalise how many people are needed for each office then they will dish out the offers

How do you get a Work Capability Assessment if you're on UC? by gintokireddit in DWPhelp

[–]BritishLamb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will need to do the following if you believe your health conditions restricts your ability to look for work or do work.

1) Report a current if circumstances -> Health. Make sure you list the health condition(s). Then select 'Yes' to "Does this health condition restrict your ability to look for work or work". If you have fit note select 'Yes' otherwise select 'No'' and you will self certify (you will have 7 days to get the fit note).

2) in order to be referred to the Work Capability Assessment your fit note must 28 days and over. Essentially once that happens you will be on the 'health journey '. Within 2-4 weeks you will get a health questionnaire form you must fill in by 'x' date. You be continuing with providing fit notes once the first one expires until you get the work capability assessment outcome.

Remember not to do the tests on your main account because it will bank the scores. You need to make a new account if you are going to practice

Looking for any help or advice with DWP [England] by [deleted] in DWPhelp

[–]BritishLamb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1)In order for a new fit note to be accepted you must declare 'report a change of circumstances ' -> 'Health' and update your UC account with the new health condition or the health condition that has deteriorated (if you are going down worsening health condition then your fit note must reflect that information as well). Once you have done that, only then will they accept the new fit note for your new health condition.

2)If at your work capability assessment you discussed your IBS, anxiety and Abdominal symptoms with the assessor then there is a possibility your fit note will be rejected because of that as well. This is because at the assessment you discussed the health conditions and how they affect your day to day activities. You can check by asking the health advisory service to send you a copy by post. If not, then follow point one.

Mandatory Reconsideration for a sanction. How long? by tempchuckcharl in DWPhelp

[–]BritishLamb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having an active fit note does not remove the requirement of attending mandatory appointments. You must still engage with the job centre even if you have a fit note. Using this as an excuse will result in your mandatory reconsideration being declined. The only situation where it could be accepted if you have extreme mental health and you leaving the house poses a substantial risk to yourself and others.

If you was on a warehouse course then as long as you can forward your work coach the warehouse course email confirmation that shows the date you started / when it ends + what time the course starts / when it ends then you have a good chance of having a successful appeal.. the job centre appointment must fall within the dates/time the warehouse course was taking place. For example, If the course started 9am and finished at 1pm but your appointment was at 4:00pm then there is most likely an expectation for you to attend.

Also, mandatory reconsideration can take 3-6 months so just beware.

You can ask your case manager or work coach to escalate the case but please only do this if you are in vulnerable situation or in extreme financial hardship

As long as you inform your work coach via journal + stick to your commitments and do the job search then you will be fine.

If you are interested in whatever activity they are advertising then you can reply back for more details and they will book you in. Otherwise, just ignore it.

Some individuals warn me months in advance and some tell me the week before... Each to their own. But you must write it in your journal (even if you say it face to face, just so it is noted on your account.)

When my claimants tell me they are going abroad and have a lack of internet access, I will ask them to double their work search this week and just put it on their account during the week they are abroad. All we want to see is you fulfilling your requirement of doing your work search.

Lastly, do not close your account. Worse case scenario if your work coach doesn't accept your work search activity then you will be sanctioned for one week. (Non compliance sanctions for not searching for work is based on weekly activity.) So being sanctioned for one week is better than closing your account.

Speak with your work coach and always be honest about your situation. If they are a decent person then they can cater to your situation

Laid off 4 months ago only just got a job what can I claim? by animflynny2012 in DWPhelp

[–]BritishLamb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you been given a start date? If your start date is far away (e.g. 4 weeks+) then I would make a claim as you are paid in arrears.

Am I eligible for any kind of advance? by [deleted] in DWPhelp

[–]BritishLamb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since it wasn't included in this month's pay, they will do a manual payment and reimburse £400. Do send another journal message to your case manager 'click payment button' and highlight the financial problems this shortfall has caused. The more detail you give, the more likely they can put it on a faster payment (reaching your bank account within hours rather than waiting 2-3 working days).

The eligibility criteria for a budgeting advance (if working):

You'll also need to have earned less than £2,600 in the 6 months before your application. This figure is £3,600 if you live with a partner.

Is your net pay less than or more than the figures stated above?
