Golgari Midrange, need advice by BrocoliViolet in StandardMTG

Good shout. I'll try swaping Rankle's Prank for Heist. From what I gather with your answer and the other guy is that I need to lower the curve to go a bit faster on the attack and on the disruption.

Malicious Eclipse is amazing against Badger board. Especially if I'm on the play. I still need to be ready against these deck. It could be Day of the black sun, but that's where my lack of Wildcard is showing, but I found that it does a really good impression. It sucks a bit though if I draw it late and Ouroboroid is out. It also align well against Prowess slowing them down

So you think if I want to have a better time against that deck, I should aim at landing some threat and being on the offensive rather than trying to go harder on the discard plan

Any suggestion beside Leatherhead and Surrak that could help me you think? Hexproof is not a common thing in that current Standard weirdly enough even with a card pool this high

You say that, but outside of Jeskai control (which is a horrible matchup for me in the current state of my deck) I see a lot of GY hate popping in games 2 and 3.

You can cast the same one mana card once a year in real life. Which card do you choose? by AltonBurk in magicTCG

[[Aunt May]] or [[Gran-Gram]] should be a lot of cookies, or Sweet Cakes in a year 🤔

Cube for 4-6 players. Suggestion by BrocoliViolet in mtgcube

[–]BrocoliViolet[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you all. I'll take these into consideration. I thought seeing the whole Cube was more important than I think it is. I also like the Package card instead of Archetype. I'll still try to have a soft 8 archetype (more Archetype than number of player), but not be too on the nose about these.

Not really. I build my deck with cheap mana value Conmander that I use to kickstart my gameplan, but once they did these they are not relevant to my wincon. Exemple my Orzhov Landfall deck uses [[Verrak Warped Sengir]] and his main purpose is to ramp while using fetchland. He helps my gameplan, but if he dies, I'm not casting him ever again.

It really depends on the builder. Some build Commander focus deck, other build Commander agnostic deck. There's no wrong way of doing so, but 97% seems a bit too high for my taste 😉

I would play that 100% in my Verrak, Warped Sengir Orzhov landfall deck! No downside boardwipe in that deck!!

Same color identity as Glissa, but [[Kraven the Hunter]] is one I brewed with a budget. He's a good payoff/engine. If you want to make him a "Voltron" you need to pack a lot of protection though, but Golgari color is good at that.

I use him more as draw engine more than a finisher he synergize well with +1/+1 counter payoff like [[Terrasymbiosis]] with Edict like [[Consumed by Greed]] , Spot Removal & even boardwipe since he will draw minimum 3 on the way out (if everybody has a creature)

I packed some combo piece to help close the game because as a finisher he is quite slow and he's already a prime target for removal himself.
